Nothing to do with a wealthy owner contributing to one team.
The NZRL bleed Australia dry and contribute bugger all to the game in their own country.
The NRL even had to step in and pay for their Under 18's side to come to Australia because they couldn't afford it.
All the while having players train and learn under our structures to return under their umbrella for the Warriors or Test matches (the only thing that makes them money).
Even then they'll be struggling to pay to get to the World Cup.
It's the NATIONAL Rugby League, not International.
There are plenty of places in Australia who would love their own team and can pay their way.
I can't fathom why they have a team in our competition or that there can be much made financially from including them …so, it's goodbye from me.

You'd lose too much talent to union if you just cut the Warriors from the game. The game would be the poorer for it with less entertainers.

Agreed. Punting the Warriors would kill the game in NZ which is why they won't be going anywhere. We're more likely to see a second NZ team then we are too see none. Not sure why they receive so much hate. There's a Canadian team in the NBA, several in the NHL, and a French side in the ESL. I like the Warriors, except when I get sucked into putting money on them every second week and they flop.

No hate GNR , just facts I'm interested in.
How many of the Warriors (or national team) went through the NZ system to make their teams?
I just can't see how they contribute to the NRL - and let's face it, as for killing the game there, NZ is always going to be a Rugby country with League favoured in only a few areas.
Plus league would still get plenty of Pacific Island players , as most seem to grow up here now.
You'll find almost as many Tongans and Samoans playing NRL - does that mean we give them their own team at the expense of an Australian franchise?

**The Sharks and Roosters have literally no local juniors in the side, should we kick them out?**
Besides, going off the 17 that played last night, at least half are local juniors. The same as as most other sides.

You're not getting the point…. they are AUSTRALIAN sides.
As for half the Warriors team being local juniors.. they have a whole bloody country to choose from for one team.. and how many were developed elsewhere?

So what if they are Aussie sides. As I said in a previous post, the NRL isn't the only competition to have a side from another country. Why does it bother you so much?

:brick:
Did you read anything?
The NRL are carrying them.
There are plenty of Australian based teams trying to get in the NRL who have the dough.
As for other countries or sports having teams from outside their borders in their premier competitions…. I don't care.
There's always the second tier competition available - good enough for PNG.
Enough from me - it's like groundhog day. :bash
