if we have Sheens for one more painful year does that mean we might have a go for Bellamy after that?

would that make people happy?

I don't like Bellamy's style of play but he gets results

You blokes are kidding Bellamy wont come here, he knocked us back once before & he will stay in Melbourne, Sheens has two years left on his contract & he will be our coach for the next two years so like it or not he is our coach.

didn't say Bellamy would definitely come here, just that it's more of an option with Sheens staying than if, say, we signed Nathan Brown for 2-3 years this year

and also wondering if it would satisfy people to put up with one more year of Sheens and then sign a proven coach

Winnipeg it wouldnt surprise me if Brown does come to the Tigers when Sheens contract is up as his name has come up before as coach.

Is it worth all the people not renewing memberships to write a letter with each of the members names and membership details and the reason for not renewing ( sheens ) ?

There are quite a few on here saying they won't renew. I am undecided. Perhaps it's too late for the board to listen to our protests ?

Funny you should mention that. I actually finally made up my mind last night and sent this to Humphreys and to the general membership email address

Subject: membership

Wests Tigers
For what very little it is worth (as I am just a know nothing fan) I am another member that will not be renewing my membership whilst sheens remains coach.
The culture he has created of excuses (oh sorry, 'reasons'), zero accountability, favouritism and 'jobs for the boys' (royce simmons - failed here, failed in England so lets take him back - woohoo!) is unacceptable in the eyes of this long suffering fan.
He has destroyed Benji by playing him in a position he has no idea about purely because sheens wants to show that he is a 'genius' by creating something that noone else saw (John Morris = Cooper Cronk anyone?).
Our success in the last two years was in spite of sheens not because of him. We are blessed with TWO once in a generation players and his complete inability to create a team that plays consistent, tough football whilst taking advantage of their brilliance has wasted them.
He should be ashamed. as should you and the board for extending his contract again and again and again.
But of course he is completely untouchable and impervious to any criticism or sanction by anyone. Especially the board that he supposedly answers too.
teflon tim will continue to make our club the 'soft', 'weak willed', also rans of the competition.
I will always love the Tigers but with him in the coaches position I cannot bring myself to support the club through membership.

I agree that Bellamy will not be coming here, but he **won't** be staying in Melbourne!

Softlaw as coach, couldn't be any worse than what we got,any how I like it champ, don't know if the powers that be will though.

Well Softlaw would have about 3600 assistant coaches to choose from 851

Why is everyone so sure he wouldn't want to come here. Just because he didn't want to touch our absolute rabble in 2003 doesn't mean he wouldn't a consider a totally different roster with some match winners (Marshall, Farah) and some good young talent coming through (Koroibete, Tedesco, Sironen).

He has a lot to work with and it is certainly a massive challenge to overhaul our underachieving and inconsistent status.

I'm not sure I really want someone who basically told us to get stuffed back then. My head says that was 10 years ago and we want the best coach but still… Irrational I know but there it is.

some more from warriors forum..seems they feel same way as us

i spoke to a cousin of mine that works at mount smart..he was saying theyre definately looking at sheens…i guess all the different connections that we all have, have there own ideas wishes and dreams as to who they want to be the coach....given all the speculation, and all whats been talked about these last few weeks, it seems like bellamy for the warriors!! (bloody hope so!) anyway, the cousin reakons, 80% chance we are getting sheens...i guess for me, he would be the next best to bellamy for the warriors for the next 3 years....how ever im like most, im allllll for bellamy!!! "WE LOVE YOU BELLAMY" take the offer mateeee lol

No, no, no, please no! The last thing we want is a coach whose record in recent years is to take a team full of talent and produce mediocre results. All this waiting and we end up with Tim Sheens? Sheesh!

Lets hope they open the door and throw a squillion at the guru, stroke his ego and give Royce a job to. I really think we are stuck with the guru but their is still a glimmer of hope that gives me hope

Well that's good for us. Never really thought Bellamy would leave the Storm prior to end of 2013\. The Warriors may well zero in on Sheens now. However from Sheens' point of view, is he likely to see the Warriors as an attractive option?? Yes they have some talent but they have less in the key positions than we do? Sheens may see that an unattractive. As much as the Warriors need a coach, the fact is Sheens is not looking for a job and i doubt we'll punt him. So for him to leave it would have to be some offer.

You watch we will have a 2010 year next year i know we will improve lets just enjoy the off season and hopfully sign Brent Kite which seems that its all but done deal.

Do you all really believe that Coach Sheens will be kept on if we start the 2013 season slow. I doubt it !

And this is an acceptable view to be held for 2013\. We need to see signs of improvement in the first half of next season otherwise Sheens and the board really have to come to the conclusion that it's just not working anymore. To say we underachieved this year is a massive understatement. It's only loyalty which may save Sheens in 2012, that and a payout.
