Do you all really believe that Coach Sheens will be kept on if we start the 2013 season slow. I doubt it !

I reckon unless we lose basically all our games in 2013 he will see out his contract until 2014

Not through want though ,I think they are too scared to lose Harry T's money again

Happy you could be close to the mark, Imagine if Sheens takes the Warriors job & they offer the Tigers job to Simmons, how good would that be LOL. I think the Warriors will sign Smith as there coach.

Signing Royce would be worse than retaining Sheens, surely the Club can see that, can't they.

I'd take him, very smart coach. Done well in England. Isn't he an assistant at the raiders. If he is I think their fortunes changed once they signed him.

The Warriors can offer Sheens the world, he still won't go. It's a big move to a whole new country and he has already stated that he doesn't want to go. Why would he? He can do a half arse job here and still get paid heaps. The only way we can be rid of Sheens before his contract expires is for the board to punt him and, as we've seen, they do not have the stones to do it. All talk, no action.

No Sheens move

Speculation linking Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens to the Warriors appears to be wide of the mark, with the veteran coach telling friends he has not spoken to anyone from the New Zealand club. Despite speculation that Tigers officials would be happy if Sheens asked for a release from the remaining two years of his contract, they do not have anyone in mind to replace him and expect he will again be in the role next season.

He'd be held to account anywhere else. No way he's leaving. It's far too easy and safe to stay with WT.

Agreed, only way he will move on is if another club locally will offer him a lot more than he is on now.

100% right. Zero accountability @ Wests Tigers.

a last, desperate hope…

NEW Zealand are expected to up their chase for Tim Sheens this weekend, with Warriors boss Wayne Scurrah heading to Sydney to interview the Wests Tigers coach.

The development comes as Tigers stalwarts Chris Heighington and Beau Ryan yesterday learned their future at the club could be uncertain next season.

The Daily Telegraph understands Heighington has attracted interest from several rival outfits for 2013 and could be released from the final year of his contract as the Tigers seek to beef up their pack.

Whether Sheens returns to Concord remains unclear, given that the Warriors have made the four-time premiership winner their No.1 choice.

While David Kidwell and Tony Iro have been considered, it's understood the Warriors want to appoint an experienced operator to rebuild confidence after this year's disastrous finish.

Sheens also has support from Warriors legend Ruben Wiki, whom he debuted at Canberra two decades ago, and also boasts a proven record of developing Polynesian and Maori juniors.

Scurrah last night confirmed he'd be in Sydney to watch the Warriors' Toyota Cup semi-final against the Roosters at ANZ Stadium tonight.

When asked repeatedly about whether a meeting with Sheens was also on his itinerary, Scurrah replied: "I'm not going to appoint a coach through the media. Any meetings we have are confidential."

The Tigers cannot afford to pay out the final two years of Sheens' contract, but would be willing to release him to take the team in a new direction after a decade at the helm. Club insiders said Peter Gentle - a former Tigers assistant coach now at Hull FC - would be one of the front-runners to take the job.

But it appears Heighington - the joint venture's most capped player - may not be around to witness what transpires. Having made his 201st NRL appearance in the final round at Leichhardt Oval, the lock has attracted interest from rival clubs for next season.

Ryan has agreed to a three-year extension, but cannot ink the deal until the club gets clearance on salary cap issues.

With room under their 2013 salary cap to purchase players, Parramatta shaped up as an option until Eels officials denied any interest in the pair last night. Cronulla, however, remain on the hunt for a winger.

Wests Tigers management is currently discussing the approach. Chief executive Steve Humphreys was reluctant to discuss the situation yesterday and offered a polite "no comment" when asked if the pair would be at the club next season.

But one source close to the pair said: "Who knows whether it will lead to anything but the other club is certainly keen. It would certainly free up some salary cap for the Tigers."

The Tigers are close to signing Manly prop Brent Kite on a two-year deal, and have also recruited Souths back-rower Eddy Pettybourne.

Meanwhile, Jason Taylor will be elevated from the Toyota Cup to assistant coach under incoming Roosters boss Trent Robinson at Bondi next year. The futures of fellow staff Matt Elliott and Rohan Smith remain clouded in the wake of Brian Smith's sacking last week.

Daily Telegraph: Making the News

Edit: sorry they quoted Scurrah which really added no value to the article at all

Please move this bloke on his making us into a laughing stock, why can't he just admit and man up that he isn't what we need any-more. Our new recruitmant policy seems we are going in a 30 plus in age requisit, this great club is destroying there own fan base by not making the right descisions imo.

In saying that, the Sharks having Gibbs/Ryan and Heighington will do wonders for their morale. They might as well take Fulton too and get the four rocks of our team.

Thats all the Sharks need, another back-rower. They're just as inept in the recruiting department as we are. Surely someone over there could realize that all they need is a few outside backs with pace, not 40 yr old Colin Best

Our last hope really. The news of the past 24 hours has only cemented my belief that this club needs change and it needs it fast. As things stand we will not move forward, at best - sideways. I've now officially lost faith in the decision makers of this club if the said intentions are true.
