Wasn't as bad as it could have been...

I agree.

And to each their own, but personally, I think if it is "much more than just footy" to anyone, then I think they could do with a bit of introspection to reassess what's really important in life.
If you think about this TS you will probably realise what an ordinary throw away statement this is.
And you're not the 1st person to use it as I've probably said it myself.
People have the right to be just as passionate about footy as you are about whatever turns you on.

@cochise has said he would die for our club, and he has the right to do that if he chooses.
Lots of passion there.
But I reckon he would be just as passionate about his wife and daughter.

Older people like me who have had family and friends pass away...a loss of passion there so need something to replace that.
Older people like me who are maybe less active than we used to be so dont get around as much anymore, need something to replace that.
What about disabled people both physically and mentally who could be largely confined to their home, need something to be passionate about.

And last but by no means least...our Mods who give their time willingly to serve us by keeping this forum running. Like @Lauren raising a little boy as a single Mum. Lots of passion there not only for WT but her little boy as well.

Wests Tigers to a lot of people is "much more than just footy".
We get so much enjoyment out of seeing our team win...a loss of passion there atm 😡 but we keep on coming back for more in the hope of seeing our team at least put in a 💯 effort game for a change.

A lot of us are passionate about many things, probably even yourself, but to a lot of us on here WT footy is "more than just a game".

It's only a "Results driven Business" when Sheens is not the coach,he got the bullet in 2012 for many good reasons but the cretins in charge decided to bring him back for an encore.
Eventually all Tim's bum kissers on here will be forced to admit that he is well past his use by date and we are getting worse under his coaching
Anyone with half a brain could tell it was a dumb decision bringing the old boys club back in. Would not be surprised if they did no analysis at all and brought back Sheens, Benji and Robbie on nostalgia alone. I think Heighno is in there too somewhere? Not sure what he does.

Not only do the fans have low expectations, but I'm also pretty bloody sure that mood has taken over the players as well. And not only the NRL team but the KOE team as well.

All the focus on the board and CEO the players can feel very lucky.

I'm sure the coaches are putting in, it's the players that are not and they get away with it.

Bring in somebody that lives and breathes resistance and resilience and tell them they have free reign to crack our princesses if they’re not looking up to scratch.

Last night made me hate being a Tigers supporter, but I’d sooner hop on their backs and ride them into form (even when I’m banned from Concord) than get upset and/or take results this season seriously.

Get this ‘person’ in before 2024 and tell them that we’re expecting men by at worst, the start of 2025. Make the 8 or fold.
I agree with every word in your post except the last two TD.

We cannot keep sacking coaches. Madge was sacked and we haven't improved. Sheens has bought on Bula and if he can somehow work that magic again we can improve.

We aren't getting better until we develop a quality roster and sacking the coach isn't going to improve that.
Bula was just a lucky get.
Bought to the club by one of his mates.
We cant rely on luck like that happening too often.
Unfortunately every other player in the backline seems to be going backwards under Sheens.

Are you saying it's better to keep a coach who is damaging the brand, not utilising the player talent properly and implementing lousy game plan tactics is not worth sacking just because we sacked too many?
Doen't make sense nor justification for me.
A guy like Bula is a natural talent. Any coach would recognise that.

I don't actually recall saying that.

I think they should stick to the coaching plan they have in place and then reassess. They also need to work on recruitment and retention.

We sack coaches all the time and we don't get better results.

Is that the same coaching plan that last season got Tiges a 1st wooden spoon, with what looks to be another on the way this year?

Maybe the solution is just get better coaches!!!

How long was Desi & Flanno on the market for? 2 coaches way better than Tiges have had for the last 10+ years

Yep always living in the past, trying to recreate something that has long gone. Meanwhile other teams are concentrating on the present and the future. You can’t expect to move forward while you’re looking in the rear view mirror all the time.

This thread is garbage.
That was an unacceptable loss.
We were facing a team scoring at 4 points at a time who had a bloke in the bin at a pivotal point in the game. It was winnable and bar some errors from our experienced guys, we could have got there despite the crap from our backs.

As for best on field…Bateman was dogshit compared to Bula. That boy single handedly kept us in that game and deserved better than all the missed tackles and dropped balls his team mates dished up.

It was a bad loss, but we are a bad team with any injuries. Now that Brooks is going I can understand why the team has no heart…not that Brooks was a great leader, it’s tough to build momentum when senior players are leaving, basically suggesting they’ve had enough.

I can’t see us getting out of this any time soon, and I think the twat with the moustache and the wannabe 1920s New York gangster need to go before anything changes.

We have a few guys out there who have no idea what they are doing. Case in point: Asu Kepaoa. A high kick goes up, he chases, doesn't know where the ball is, lets it bounce, then Bradman Best runs away 30m. Just utter stupidity, and we've seen it from him before.
Asu Kepaoa is not a wingers pinky finger, but there’s bugger all options until Nofa and Staines come back.

You are not wrong.

A few weeks ago Starford Toa was a superstar, this week making mistake after mistake and you can see how frustrated he is with his own performance and that of his team mates around him.

Junior Tupou, after looking promising earlier in the season is going backwards fast in recent weeks and looks to be playing with very little confidence.

Asu Kapoa after bulking up in the off season started off looking like he was going to go okay off the bench for limited minutes in the second row but should be no where near the wing or in the centres, which doesn't say much for Brent Naden's form if he is keeping him out of the side.

Not much point talking about our dire situation with the halves and where the hell was Benji, has he left the building, in which case I would not blame him.
When you’re trying to lift a team off the canvas you can’t have negativity and you need consistency…consistency of message, players etc

Sheens and Benji wanted Brooks, management wanted a cheap deal and didn’t know the market so they low-balled him. Brooks leaves as he’d had enough and now the team has lost belief that the club can ever get their shit together. The players lost confidence in the club and that’s why there’s no resilience anymore. It’s not Sheens and the coaching staff, it’s the repetitive ineptitude from management and I’ve had enough.

That’s the problem in a nutshell.

Exactly how I see it. There was a noticeable change in player resilience once Brooks was lowballed and Fultongate occurred - pretty much at the same time. Both were balls ups by management. Before these decisions the team was starting to show resilience and give us some hope.
