I like Fulton but saying that Blair not better than him is absolute nonsense. Fulton is a great defender, and a handy squad player but he's not a superstar. Heighington is a good player, good defender, hard worker but neither of these players can provide the impact that someone like Blair can.
Blair is aggressive, would bring mongrel and hits like a truck in defence. These are all things we lack right now, especially with Ellis injured. Fulton and Heighington are honest toilers and valuable members of our side but there is no way they are better players than Blair, absolutely no way.
Blair, like Ellis, is one of the best forwards in the comp. He is an international for the current world champions, and he's young with his best years ahead of him to add to that. If the opportunity came to sign him we shouldn't even hesitate.
+1 to the above..
Alot of fans here are too attached to current squad members.
When contracts & signings are involved, you cant let emotions play a factor in decision making.
This is not related directly to the Blair signing, but even the likes of the Marshall & Farrah should be considered in a future trade/contract decisions if the right opportunity arises.
So what if 1 new signing costs us 2-3 players. Better to have a top rated elite player that can make a big difference to the team then to keep 2-3 consistant players who aren't rated as high outside the West Tigers club.
My point is, you dont reach the top without a little sacrifice.
People need to consider each situation as if they are a recruiter for an International All-Star team, not as a West Tigers fan.
