Watchful Tigers keen to snare Blair

Just came down by plane from Brisbane and quite a few Bulldogs execs including Greenberg, were on the plane.

Sat next to one and said "you have dropped off Blair ?" and he said "yes, he's going to the Tigers".

If even other club execs know that take it as a given !

Someone who is close to the storm players, and is usually spot on with their tips, said Widdop and Duffie would resign, and Blair was gone( or in their words, take it as read Blair is gone),the first 2 tips were on the money,so here's hoping.

He may be just assuming….that often leads to getting it wrong.

I agree Ink.

One would assume that Greenberg has a subscription to either the SMH or Terrorgraph and is privy to the same speculative BS that we are and formed a conclusion from that.

I've made a complete turnaround on this - originally I thought Blair was the ideal acquisition for the Tigers, but now I hope we don't get him. Service, loyalty, history, brotherhood - these principles are worth more than money.

Bryce Gibbs is as good as Blair IMO, so to lose him in order to get Blair gains us nothing. Liam Fulton went to England for a year in order to get the club out of a salary cap mess, we owe him.

It seems to me that this is most likely the 'internal issue' currently affecting the team's performance. The 'Brothers for Life' of 2005 meant 'life' at the time, not a 'a few years, unless it suits us otherwise.'

Sorry to bring emotion and principles into a discussion about 21st century rugby league!

We still need a whopping 1,790 posts to hit Lote thread status!!!

Whoops 1,789 now

Sorry Kaiser Don't think its going to happen unless idiots like myself write meaningless posts like this one

Blair > Gibbs

Reasons,

Gibbs is getting more and more injury Prone, as the years have gone on the less and less he has been playing. Value for money isnt there anymore. He has only played a handful of games this year and last year he missed quite a few. Blair is a all year rounder. Fans whinge when we dont win games, but they are happy to keep the same playing roster that we have. People complained for years our forwards been to small.. We are now working on it.

Youth in the club is good but we cant base the whole team off youth.. we do need an Engine that does the hard work NOW, not possibly in 3 years

Brotherhood wont win us a comp and the club needs to make desicions based off what is good for the long run, and Gibbs isnt good for long runs. I dont doubt you on the talent they both have..

100% On the money, I have been beating the same drum. Hard calls have to made, I dont see Bennett getting to much flack for starting to put the cleaners through the Knights. Okay it might not be the right call, you never know but based on what T Rex outlined above its very hard not to agree

The more i think about this it seems to be dragging on, I have changed my mind now & really hope we sign Blair. I still think we will keep Gibbs but maybe loose Fulton, & it was the two players who asked could they test the water not the tigers telling them. So if they go i will be sorry to see them go but they are the one who asked could they.

Paris, you mentioned Fulton going to England to help with salary cap, do you get the chance to travel over yourself to watch the ESL live?
