Watchful Tigers keen to snare Blair

Blair Gibbs

Reasons,

Gibbs is getting more and more injury Prone, as the years have gone on the less and less he has been playing. Value for money isnt there anymore. He has only played a handful of games this year and last year he missed quite a few. Blair is a all year rounder. Fans whinge when we dont win games, but they are happy to keep the same playing roster that we have. People complained for years our forwards been to small.. We are now working on it.

Youth in the club is good but we cant base the whole team off youth.. we do need an Engine that does the hard work NOW, not possibly in 3 years

Brotherhood wont win us a comp and the club needs to make desicions based off what is good for the long run, and Gibbs isnt good for long runs. I dont doubt you on the talent they both have..

100% On the money, I have been beating the same drum. Hard calls have to made, I dont see Bennett getting to much flack for starting to put the cleaners through the Knights. Okay it might not be the right call, you never know but based on what T Rex outlined above its very hard not to agree

Well, I will disagree. We were only a poor refereeing decision away from appearing in last year's grand final which we would have won.

The likes of Woods, Dwyer and Fifita are coming on a treat this year (despite our patchy record), and BMM looks to have enormous potential. Need not even talk about the likes of Groat. If this guy is going to chew up the amount of salary cap that is being talked about then I would rather not have him and stick with the nucleus we already have.

What you don't seem to realise SC is that recruitment of external players routinely costs the club more than retention of entrenched juniors etc….

I don't see Blair playing a similar stabilising & emphatic role in ruck defence as Liam, Bryce & Todd - however I will not argue against change!!

However I pray we avoid the Souths conundrum where you put all your (salary cap) eggs into very few high-profile baskets!!!

Blair is probably looking for a get out clause in the contract he signed if he watched us last night . And would you blame him

I know you're disappointed but I'd think Blair would be smart enough to know we were without out best centre, winger, and the best attacking player in the comp. He'd also think he could be enough of a positive influence that he could turn a loss like that into a win.

Come on mate live up to your name! We're still close enough to the top 8 and we'll have a stack of stars back next game. Oh and a guaranteed 2 points coming up

Well said Yoss.
There are stil 10 weeks left.
Anything can happen, esp. with Tigers.
Unpredicability is the weapon.

Just venting Yoss If you read in another post I said now could be a good time to get on the Tigers odds wise as they won't get any better . I think we can still win the comp if we get in that top 6 That's the key I think

Mayby he's now settled his contract issues he is back to top form - btw I can't remember a Tigers forward ever making 94 meters in the first half of a game - actually its not often our back rowers (outside Ellis) make 94 meters in a full game

Just had a thought, would all this Blair uncertainty (and uncertainty of the squad as a whole) have anything to do with the June 30 deadline? Does that still play a part in contract stuff…

Keef made 100+ in the first half on friday. Just saying..

Danos the problem with the tigers forwards is that we don't do it consistently like gallen,Blair, one cent a litre etc

Was just pointing something out for Boon, thought it was relevant, not making an overall statement re; the consistancy of WT forwards. And FYI, Blair does not consistantly make big metres. He'd be lucky if he's made 80+ metres 3 times this season.

Fair call Dano and I love big Keithy - I was more having a shot at some of the players who are or might be going like Gibbs, Fulton who just don't make an impact in attack

Blair's made 80+ metres six times this year. Just sayin'…

If you look at the games were blair has made 100+ metres and against big forward packs round 1 v manly, than brisbane and now twice against the warriors so he does stand up

woohoo, less than 50% of the time i can expect 80 yards or more.
he should fit in perfectly at the tigers.

500k for that,wow.i wouldn't even pay 300k for that.
people need to stop being conned by the third party write off.
you only get 300k for the whole squad.
when lote was signed we were told alot of 3rd party dollars were going towards his salary.
we have benji, who certainly has 3rd party payments, does farah ,ellis or lawrence?
\
\
we are paying huge overs
