Was just pointing something out for Boon, thought it was relevant, not making an overall statement re; the consistancy of WT forwards. And FYI, Blair does not consistantly make big metres. He'd be lucky if he's made 80+ metres 3 times this season.

he should fit in perfectly at the tigers.

500k for that,wow.i wouldn't even pay 300k for that.
people need to stop being conned by the third party write off.
you only get 300k for the whole squad.
when lote was signed we were told alot of 3rd party dollars were going towards his salary.
we have benji,who certainly has 3rd party payments,does farah ,ellis or lawrence?

why is everybody buying into the 500K? its funny how whenever there is a rumor in the tele of a player leaving you see comments such as 'don't believe anything you read in the telecrap' and 'they just get their stories from these forums',yet on the other hand have taken this 500K business as gospel from the get go

Im beginning to think that either
A)Blair has actually signed,contrary to what the media is told,
or B)Blairs manager appreciates weve made committments to release other players & is leveraging his bargaining position to extract even more$$$ from WT to save us from total embarrassment.
Latter scenario wld be so naive on behalf of WT to not possibly have credibility….surely?Altho if Sheens is involved Ive accepted that anything is possible(..except another premiership)

Why are you so concerned with his form this year, when he is in the middle of contract negotiations sorting out his future?

Blair is better than any of our forwards bar Ellis - FACT. And even then he would probably be on par with Gareth. He is a quality, quality player.

I agree with you when he puts the NZ jersey on HT But his NRL form is probably on par with Rhino imo Ellis is consistantly (when 100% fit ) the best second rower in the NRL and probably the best in the world

I am one of the biggest critics of the club (and coach) on this forum. I believe we have needed a cleanout for at least three years, and I have wanted a new coach since the end of 2007.

I believe many rate the likes of Rhino, Fulton, Gibbs etc. better than they are. The same applied for the likes of Halatau when he was with us. All are good solid first graders. None are rep level quality players. Now of course we can't have a rep quality player in every position. But I would be willing to bet these guys are on VERY good coin, probably much more than they would be paid elsewhere because that run in 2005 set expectations too high for everyone.

IMO we have two genuine superstars that would walk into any side in the comp and they are Marshall and Ellis. Then you have the likes of Galloway, Lawrence, Farah and Tuqiri who are all quality players and would probably get a start at a few sides in the comp (though not all). The rest of our squad is full of either average or below average first graders, or youngsters who are still gaining experience and may end up being quality players in the future. Is it any coincidence that all the players I have listed above are not rumored to be going anywhere? I doubt it.

I also believe our coach is also very overrated - but that is another discussion entirely.

Some people are also sentimental about some of our average players simply because they are juniors and overachieved to win the competition six years ago.

You are barking up the wrong tree r.e Sheens as I have been one of his biggest critics (and continue to be). But we have two choices: you either get a new coach, or you revamp and refresh your stale playing roster. We have chosen the latter. Time will tell if this was the right call.

"Mr 48%" from '07, '08 and '09 has been criticized for persevering with inept players. Here we are in '11 and "Mr 48%" is being criticized for releasing a front rower who runs more side ways than forwards and another front rower who requires a needle to play every week.

When "Mr 48%" contract was up in '09 and the fans were screaming for him to be sacked and for the club to sign Stephen Kearney. In '11 "Mr 48%" is in the hunt to sign the 2nd best forward in the game and is challenging in the top 8 with a depleted team while the fans choice Kearney is fighting off the wooden spoon and in negotiations with Mark O'Mealy after already signing Carl Webb and Reni Maitua for this year.

Does "Mr 48%" make some questionable decisions? Absolutely! Is he as bad as most fans make him out to be? Definitely not.

Well technnically they are both in the same boat (Rhino and Blair ) at the moment Rhino is either trying to impress a new club or impress Sheens Blair is also in same boat If he is not signed yet he needs to prove he is worth all the dollars the Tigers are going to throw at him .
On the last 3 weeks Rhino form wise is giving him a butt kicking .
If Blair has already signed with the Tigers what does his form over the last 6 weeks say . It tells me he not as professional as we would all like to think . What's to say once Blair gets here he and gets comfortable he won't be the same as he is at the moment at the Storm

Ahhh Yeah he does have to prove something . To his current club ,to his future club and 500 big ones that we will be spending . I don't disagree that our side needs to change . If you read my previous posts no issues with Fifita or Gibbs going but the club is going to put Dwyer over Rhino . Thats where my issue lies and my other issue is Will we get so much value for money with Blair at 500 k and Rhino at app 250 -280 k . Thats my point I definitely don't agree with Dwyer over Rhino and not convinced with Blair over Rhino for almost twice as much

I still cant believe we havent signed Blair yet, as for rhino going i think it would be madness. Dwer has plenty of potential but is sus in defence. B.M.M has more potential then Dwyer & i am worried he will go to the Broncos. he could be anything.

What does Rhino need to learn ?? He tackles everything that moves and does more than his fair share of hitups . My point is until Dwyer learns more ?? Play him off the bench (which is something he will be more effective at than Rhino) and start with Rhino . Simple More hard experienced heads on the field when it counts

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to keep him. He is passionate and works hard. But on the other end of the scale he rarely breaks the line or off load. I think he'd be a great player off the bench, but he probably doesn't want o be relegated to that position.

My point was that Rhino has nothing to learn, Dwyer has a lot. Rhino will not develop into more than he is right now - or even was two years ago. If we are satisfied with the player he is then fine keep him, but if we want something more then he may have to go or be satisfied with a bench spot. I don't have a problem with that.

are you serious?
a contract year should be your best,especially at his age.
considering we are willing to pay the big bucks i would like something more potent than what he has dished up.
not once every 6 weeks either.
for the big bucks you have to play a huge part every week.
he is not playing anywhere near what we are willing to pay.
and no other team thinks he is worth it either.FACT
rhino has out performed him this year.

now if gallen was coming here for 500k,yes i would be excited,because his style is what we need more of.
