Haven't heard too many people call Bennett a has been this yr (Not talking about on here, but in general).

And even Sticky's critics have been pretty silent lately. Raiders playing a pretty damn good brand of footy atm

Yeah I'm really happy for the Raiders and even Sticky - he cops a lot of crap. I can't remember the the last time Canberra have played this well, hard to begrudge them their current success. Broncos going much better under Bennett also - he just belongs there, imo.

The Raiders have been the side this yr who have easily gotten the best value from their recruits than any other team in the comp. We all know Austin is killing it, but Sam Williams, Soliola and FPN are playing out of their skins. Who da funk it given the way they bombed initially on their recruitment drive and Tedesco reneging.

Yep they seem to have bought the right mix of players to go along with up and coming young guns like Boyd, Vaughan and Wighton and the more experienced guys like Croker, Papali and Fensom. They have an awesome pack of forwards and skillful backs, but of course it's still early days - we'll see how they're faring later on in the season. Hope they can keep it going.

Raiders should actually still have a fair chunk of their cap to spend on another big name. I know they are bringing in the Titans half but still. They had about a million of thier cap injured/doing bugger all for 4 years. Campo, White, TLL. Advantage for thier young guns is that no-one has talked them up, unlike our over-hyped lot.

Bennett has a top quality squad, money with the added bonus of a portion of the players he coached previously. Added Boyd, Blair and Milford from last years squad and anything but success would be a failure for the master coach.

Sticky is a rebuild expert, he did it at the Roosters and Eels with success in the total structure as well - he just didn't play well with others. Raiders is his heart and he will ensure success occurs whilst having the added bonus of the board that will give him whatever he wants no matter what.

The coach I'm interested in is over the ditch at the Warriors he is starting to do what not many other coaches have been able to do and get the Warriors playing with structure and composure - next year with the squad they have the team should fire massively. This year they appear to be a different warriors team from years gone by.

Not sure if Bennett was ever a has been, but his stint at Newy showed with a normal roster he is a "good" coach rather than "super" coach. Same with Robinson at the Roosters, his acid test will come when he has a restricted budget which doesn't allow the same quality players

I'm undecided on McFadden. The only coach whose ever had any success with them was Cleary, and he's one of the best coaches in the comp. The problem with the Warriors is they don't have a clue how to grind a game out. If they did, they'd be world beaters.

Warriors coach won't last long if success doesn't come next year with what will be arguably the best roster in the comp. A spine of Luke/Johnson/shrek it's the new big 3.

The Dragons are another surprise package at the moment. Who would have thought. Their defence is amazing. Definitely not the same team we played and beat in round 2\. Their transformation happened really fast. Credit to them for turning it around.

I looked at this Canberra team at the start of the year, mostly because of Austin but it wasnt hard to like them. They have assembled one the better balanced squads in the comp.

Its just a really good mix of youth and experience, size and sped, ball players and runners.

The most important mix is obviously youth and experience, for years they have boasted they had the best juniors in the comp coming through. It meant nothing and got them absolutely nowhere until this year they complimented them with the experience and maturity of FPN, Soliola,Waqa, Austin and Hodgson.

Best of luck to them.

Ok well I still think Bennett is a dud coach he needs internationals in his squad to shine I like sticky always have he is a blue collar coach who sticks up for his players no matter wat

The reasons you like Stuart are the same things that make Bennett the well respected coach he is. Thats some serious dislike if you cant see that.

Stuart cops a lot of crap because he deserves it quite frankly. He was a sooky flog as a player and his coaching career has consisted of ditching Cronulla when they started going bad, ditching Parra when they started going bad and having a breakdown at the referee after the Aussie team copped a loss. He is all smiles ATM, wait till the Raiders hit a losing streak and he will be running for the exit door like a toddler with a shitty nappy.
