Wayne Bennett Wants Replayed Grand Finals Brought Back

Fair enough on Bennett's opinion on Golden point, as others have said he's been vocally against it since day one, however perhaps a golden try situation should be considered from here on in - with penalties not allowing for goal kicks, and no field goals.

I know what most of you are thinking - if that's the case, then what's to stop everyone being offside? The sin bin.

If a team is continually giving away penalties to disrupt the game on their goal-line, put players in the bin, as they won't be returning.

During the season 5 minutes either way should suffice - but the key difference should be 2 points to the winner, 1 point to the loser.

Finals games should be five minutes either way, then continuation until a result.

I do however feel that Bennett not giving a single shred of praise to the North Queensland Cowboys for their performance on the day is a bit of poor form.

If you couldn't let teams win without penalty goals UD , imagine the penalty count ??

I stand by my statement that if the Sin-Bin is applied correctly, it will keep the infringements to "normal" levels.

Most ungracious in defeat ….. surprised me actually how bitter he was.
Wasnt the time or place to raise the GP issue.
Lost a lot of respect for Bennett.

Of course need want a replay….. He now knows what doesn't work and would drastically change his gameplan.

Poor form from him... Time and place for everything

Don't think it worked with the 6.4 million memes and vid's posted on social media within 10mins of the finish…

The fans won't waste time in taking the Mickey, he can stay away from social media. When it's printed on every paper and on every news network it's a little harder to avoid.

In any case, if that was Bennett's goal it did work. I've certainly been talking more about Bennett coming off like a sore loser in the last couple of days than about Hunt's mistake.

Water off Bennetts back, Hunt on the other hand possibly badly affected by it all

Broncos shut the game down for the last 15 min.
They had plenty of opportunity to kick a field goal in the last 15 minutes, and if they had done so, the missed conversion at the end gives the broncos the title.
They did not, **_rather they chose to kick ball into touch and wind the clock down._** :crazy
**Their tactics cost them the game.**

Yeah agreed.
They kept inviting the Cowboys in the game.

I think McCullough can be a very selfish player at times whenever 5 metres out from opposition's tryline. He tried to go over himself twice in the game when they had numbers to the left.

I hate golden point. Mostly because it has cost the Tiger almost every time they have played in it. But unfortunately it looks here to stay. If you can win a comp game or a semi final in golden point, then the same has to go for the grand final.

The Supercoach Bennett 'Myth' makes me dislike ANYTHING he says and this is no different. He has been against the golden point, as have many others but when his team lose he gets all the airplay.

Now lets just look at Supercoach and his record…..

Coached that team for 20+ years and took them to 6 Premierships. In my opinion, should have won many more with the one team one town licence guarantee and what was essentially a Queensland Team. Money was good (both over and under the table) and when that dried up in 2006-2007, off he went to St George. (He wanted to go to the roosters...another club built on coin, but that fell through)

Won a premiership with St George in 3 years. Great effort, but as you know the previous rookie coach had them on the edge of glory anyway. An injection of serious corporate money was enough to get them over the line. Of course they couldn't sustain that expenditure, so it was off to Newcastle and their' billionaire owner' Nathan Tinkler. We all saw what he left at St George when they had to make up for that wild year or two of crazy money....it caught up with them.

Anyway, we are at Newcastle and everything is rosey until not long after it all started, the dollars fell apart. The dough dried up and mysteriously, so did the Newcastle luck and skill level. They reached some heights akin to the money, but as soon as it was gone, so was 'supercoach' with a year to go on the contract.

Conveniently, we are back in Brisbane, still essentially a one team town, and that money that had dried up under the table earlier is back in a small way with the Clydesdales, albeit you have to really look under the table these days. With a strong club and many representatives in the team (all on apparently $200K per year), supercoach is back in the frame.

Now, Bennet might not seek the publicity and the media label him, but he sure as hell doesn't hide from it.

Oh, and did I mention he is on the rules committee, just to ensure he can have some input into how the game is structured.

Oh, and his origin record is something like 12 wins from 21 games in a two horse race. Hardly supercoach material.

The guy is a myth, the supercoach is a myth and always has been.

Now, as a man, he is a very decent and reasonable man, I have no issue with his personality and his family etc.

But really, why are people so excited about anything he says, and why do they place more weight on his thoughts on the game?

Thats it, Ive finished my venting.

Sure his GF record is good but its not as though he hasn't lost finals games before. He has lost dozens of them with full strength qld/club origin teams. Couldn't find a win after 93 so they had to create sewer league to kill of the competition and bust the salary cap. Myth.
