WE HAVE TO TAKE ACTION!

Of course not and might I add that I was one of the first to call these muppets out. Way before it became cool to do so….Years before.
Obviously I’d like to see them sell the club….organically. Not with a gun to their head from fans or the administration but because the club had become so worthy that it was sort after.
We need to win games of football and ignore this crap in the boardroom.
They club will be worthless if the HBG are allowed to continue to destroy it.

Well writing to Burgess and asking him nicely to sell up and also to speak to our forwards about playing with a little bit more ticker might work?

But I’ll stick to PVL.

I will also state PVL is very supportive of keeping history alive in the game. It is because of PVL that the Bears are returning to the NRL. The Wests Tigers will continue to exist with or without the HBG.

Not even sell dude. Just change. Like there are other teams that are funded by leagues clubs. But those clubs don't have fossil debenture holders who think the club is their own possession and plaything. I don't care about the ownership thing outright. I just hate the terrible, amateur debenture holders. True hate. They are wasting our lives as footy fans.

And there are no other teams in the NRL that have people from the leagues clubs sacking board members because they don't get to know who the club is recruiting.

I agree we need to win games, but these are the same humans that were sacking mick potter for jason taylor, and leaking about recruitment, talking to players behind coaches backs. They froth for that stuff and they like playing political games more than setting things up for success. We will win jack sh11t.

The NRL have been aware of HBG for years.

Years.

And the Tigers have had board room issues for years.

Years.

When has the NRL stepped in & put a stop to it?

HBG, for every single fault, are 90% owners. They fund everything outside of grants from the NRL. If I was a business owner, I'm pretty sure I'd be doing what I want too.

The answer might just be a Laundry type bid. Not necessarily him, but someone willing to give a business group like HBG a REASON to sell & move on. Where does that come from? Don't know.

Maybe instead of rallies & mass emails, it's more important to appeal to potential new owners with reasons as to why they should buy in? If HBG were 50% owners, the balance of power shifts. Where is the consortium of wealthy financial buyers offering to buy in? Why, as a supporter base, are we not instead pleading with Blue Wiggle/Benny Elias/Meriton/Zach Efron/Cate Blanchett/Chris Hemsworth/Joe Mangeniello etc to support the Balmain Leagues Club, and buy back some of the ownership of the Wests Tigers, to give a proper 50-50 split on the Wests Tigers ownership?

I don't think the club (Wests Tigers) is better served with no HBG or Wests Ashfield. I think it is enhanced with proper buy in from the Balmain side. Otherwise, we have a board directed by only one side of the merger, as we see now, leaving a large portion of ill feeling.

If you want to appeal to PVL, do so in an attempt to use his contacts to buy in on the Balmain side of the venture so that Wests Tigers don't host a board member from the old Tigers as an olive branch but because it's a co-op.

HBG are not good.

The issue is Balmain cannot contribute financially.

They can now … Arthur Laundy … but he’d want a controlling stake imo.

The HBG put $1.7m into the Wests Tigers in 2024. They do not fund everything outside of the grants. That is completely wrong.

Some form of this is the answer.

Wests Tigers needs HBG & Wests Ashfield & passionate Wests Magpies people.

It ALSO needs buy in from Balmain Tigers.

Right now, as has been the issue for years, Balmain cannot contribute, but expect 50% of the say.

Fair enough. The financials are dependent on the NRL. BUT...Balmain does not contribute $1.7m a year as well, do they?

See, again people trying to frame this as a Balmain v Magpies issue. I want what's best for the Wests Tigers. I want Balmain as far away from the Wests Tigers as possible, they destroyed that club.

I don't see it as Wests v Balmain.

I see that this is a co-op of Wests & Balmain, with the financials coming from....Wests.

So does that lead to the potential of a Wests bias in the club? Absolutely. And it is, in some ways, understandable.

Unless you can remove both Balmain & Wests factions from a co-op, highly unlikely, then the other option is for equal contribution. Same amount of board members with an independent chair, financials coming from 2 strong football clubs with history & a reason to work together.

Right now we have 2 clubs with history, but 1 contributes financially & the other gets a board member as a sign of friendship while unable to assist in the running of the co-op club.

The issue is balance. Not Wests v Balmain. Not even HBG.

Balmain is dead mate, and in reality has been absorbed into the HBG.
That being the case, we are run by HBG until another buyer or consortium comes in.

Or, more realistically, the Wests side of the merger can literally do what they like. If they are footing the finances, who are we to tell them how to run their business?

The only way to change it is through investment from someone else. And while the club makes money for the NRL, why is PVL going to dictate how the club is run?

Unless a completely independent buyer can come in, what we need is a second financial investor/investors to match the Wests side of the merger, to give actual balance on the board.

Or, fans don't turn up & hope it gives HBG enough reason to sell up & move on.

Souths fans & supporters banded together & came up with a rich financier. In my opinion- that is where any kind of effort from fans should be put.

I would possibly agree but the HBG is destroying the club and those responsible do not own the club, they are custodians who should b e building the club.

I own as much of the club as those guys trying to kill it.
