It seems some people here need to constantly remind others of what they thought or predicted earlier, they need to be proven right constantly…is it an ego thing or justification issues?
Knowing your stuff here is very very important...LOL

well said,

also, the way we turn on our players is depressing, footy is a great pass time, but its just a sport. I'm not being dismissive, I actually go to all the games while in Oz, but it's just a game, and these people you follow are real people with real life issues. Be a bit kinder in your comments.

Great post Icon, especially the last bit.

I get frustrated with players and have given up after having faith until last week, but these are just people at the end of the day. In fairness this thread has been mostly ok in the comments imo, but some of the other threads are in pretty poor taste. I hope the "realists" are happier with actual reality!

Not meaning to single you out because you used that word Tiger. Since the Farah debacle version 1.0 I have stopped judging people for their posts on any single topic because most of the time I agree with them on some things and on others I don't.

I'm commenting more on how the mood gets here when the season is over prematurely year after year. I get why, but we are still responsible for what we say or type, game day thread excluded imo because the games are periods of heightened stress and major disappointment.

Well said

But I have no problem with people giving their opinion about a "football player".

Some need to distinguish the difference between commenting on a players ability as a footballer and them as a "person".

I understand they are people, I've had friends in the past who have played NRL, I've driven them to and from training, I've hung out with them on their days off etc
I'm not criticising them as a person, I don't know them so why would I.

I have a question for anyone who doesn't like others giving their opinion on players when they're not performing.

Is it OK to give a player a wrap when they play well?
If your answer is Yes (which it should be)

What's your problem with pointing out when they play crap?

Some only seem to notice the negative things people say and ignore the positive.
I give credit when it's deserved and I'll comment when I see the opposite and I won't apologize for doing so.

It's not as if I'm writing and sending players hate mail to their house.

I have no problem with fair criticism - what racks me off is the name calling of players. Say what you like (not you in particular Tiger) but why do we have to name call?

Couldn't agree more. Cringeworthy.

But Tiger did name player Garlic Sauce so Tiger is guilty your Honour - I am still trying to figure who he is referring to?

I spent most of my law degree looking at cute girls and don't know the fine print on NRL contracts, but I suspect it might be difficult to cut some of these guys from our apron strings.

Remember, we were the club that sacked Tim Sheens mid-contract and seemed surprised when he wanted the contract paid out.

It does raise the question, do we have adequate measures in place to avoid signing up medical basket cases? The club's pre-season promo flick seemed to show we have some well-qualified medical and sports science staff.

Knowing this, the evidence points to a mega fail from management and the board asleep at the wheel.
