We must take a Gamble

If Benji, Josh and Tui are out and Drinkwater is not top 30 then there is only 1 logical solution unless they go for Godinet half back and Brooks five eighth.

I suspect Gamble will play at 6 before Godinet gets a run at 7.

Can anyone confirm if Gamble has any sort of injury..

I missed this weeks game but some reports that he looked off.

The previous week i thought he started really well but then struggled in the last 20 minutes. Either fitness or injury?

Hi Patriot

There was one incident where the usual forum suspects doubted Tyson's fitness after he hunched over. In actual fact he took a shoulder in the Solar Plexus in the tackle and appeared to be winded. He got up again and there was no other issue.

Some interesting points:
1\. Wyong targeted Gamble's right edge in the first half and were unsuccessful - 18-2 half time
2\. Gamble did some nice things in particular a nice line break and some nice offensive and defensive kicking
3\. In the second half Wyong shifted their attack to our left edge and in particular successfully targeted Tali, Drinkwater and Fonua
4\. It was a difficult game to make an assessment because we dropped plenty of ball - we virtually gifted Wyong the game

Luke Garner was again the standout

The game is available on Channel Nine https://www.9now.com.au/nsw-intrust-super-cup/season-2018/episode-3
Have a look under the Gamble thread because there are some nice comments by Benji

Thanks Freddy.

I trust your match report, seems much more fair and measured than the " usual forum suspects " as you call them.

I thought he looked to be blowing hard in the last twenty of the last game. It was a stinking hot day but it does make wonder if he can handle 80 NRL minutes.

I have no issue with his class, mental focus or his defence.

Interesting that you talk about a 'stinking hot day'. Heat will affect everyone differently due to physique and recent intake. I just wonder whether NRL clubs employ nutritionists to ensure that the players are properly hydrated in the heat. From the sideline it appears that it might be water which is a real problem because it would mean that their electrolytes will get flushed down the toilet at half time. Look at the Tennis players at the Australian Open and the concoctions that are made up for them to combat the heat. If Gamble did not take any electrolytes in his water before the game or during the breaks it would account to him looking fatigued. Just a though given my son is a rower and these magic drinks are part and parcel of his sport.

Drinkwater should never make 1st grade. Absolute liability. Average ISP player at best.

That is why he only has an ISP contract and not part of the 30.

Why would you think he is being considered for NRL - apart from the fact he is playing quite well and kicking quite well.

Id take his brother at melbourne at full back for us.

You could be on to something, he didnt look right.

Im not sure its an issue that other are having or just a once off thing that got to Gamble.

A bit of selective memory here I think. Godinet was good in round one and it’s only when he came on in the first half that we started building pressure. He’s been a pass so far but no more and is definitely not Liddle’s level.

I agree w everyone doubting McIlwrick. He’s been average this year.

I just had my operation.
Recovery going great thanks.
Forgive and forget.
Rebuild bridge please. Call it road to semis.
Sign Farah ASAP.

He dug a deep moat around that bridge and it would take all the semis, b-doubles and dump trucks on the road to fill it.

Yeah i think we need to choose one and risk them in the 80.

Has anyone else noticed how quickly josh aloiai looks gassed when he plays?

He has been very, very ordinary. A couple of weeks in reserve grade would not hurt him.

:bulb:

I haven’t seen a half talked up this much on the forum since Blake Lazarus was basically anoited the next Immortal prior to his debut. If he gets a go I’ll back him to the hills however if fit Lolohea should walk into the 6 ahead of him

And people accuse me of licking cane toads :roll

Robbie's back ,Gamble's captain coach , Littlejohn's is playing NSW SOO as the 7

And we were a bee's you know what from being 3/3

Imagine if we were 0/3 😱pen_mouth:

Lolohea to 6
Liddle 9
Gamble # 17
Gamble can cover 6 and 9
He could also play centre if required
And a handy kicker

Hooker is probably one of the more demanding position in the NRL..

I don't understand how people think a kid who have never played there let alone NRL can cover it even for a short period or god forbid the rake went down 2mins into the game…

Stop passing the toads around happy...

so we have two reserve grade hookers and you want to sign a third. :unamused:
The last thing I ever want to see is that miserable piece of gear in a tigers jersey.

Agree. Gamble isn't going to be thrown in at 9..And Liddle has no match fitness so I doubt Ivan will toss him straight into FG at this stage.
