But my hesitation comes from wondering will we need a player like a 34yo Reynolds just 2 years from now? I don't want to be paying overs yet again for an older player that is not delivering what the team needs.

No doubt that is why Souths is only offering 1 year and I hope that isn't lost on our management.

The most I would offer is a 2yr deal and not big money.

How did that go for the roosters when they took Cronk for his last contract? We need a game manager and a half who gives us good field position and repeat sets. Brooks is not that player and never will be. Our forwards are building nicely. Our backs are young with plenty of potential. Our hooker will be a future superstar. All you are doing is stating this is the worst team we've had in years and I personally don't see that.

Can you show me where I’ve stated this is the worst team we’ve had in years? I actually think this is the strongest roster we have had in ages. Players like Laurie, Douie, talau, bore, Stefano and the simpkins get me very excited.

Our achiles heel is our halfback and there are no more excuses. I don’t hate him but he has run out of excuses. No Farah to blame, no Benji to blame and we finally have a decent forward pack. When expert halves like fitlerand John’s are telling us that Brooks kicking game is killing us and leading to these second half blow outs because of the field position we keep feeding our opponents then I’m happy to listen to them. Time to move on otherwise we will be fighting it out with the bottom four due to not having a proper halfback running our team.

As I’m pretty sure he’s well in the firing line if we keep performing badly
