We should have kept Paul Momirovski.

He’s solid. But he’s the kind of player who will look 10 times the player he really is in a strong team.

As slow as a wet week, we have too many players from that mould

Storm = **Justin Olam**, Reimas Smith
Penrith= Paul Momorovski, **Matt Burton**
Manly = Morgan Harper, Brad Parker
Souths= Campbell Graham, **Dane Gagai**
Parra = Tom opicic, **Waqa Blake**

Some of these things are not like the other.

IMO Momo is the weakest of all of them. Maybe in the same category as Smith, Park and Opicic. The rest all better and the highlighted names actual good players and MOmo isnt in the same discussion with these guys. If all of those players were available I'd buy Momo ahead of Opacic and maybe Smith

He might be the worst in that bunch (in your opinion) but he can tackle. Some people on this forum want to sign Jtj again. Remind me again when he runs out into our centres so i get into the foetal position again.

Mate you are barking up the wrong tree.

The title and OP of this thread isnt "Paul Momirovski is better than all of our centres and would do a better job than them", it is "We Should have kept him".

He is a pretty good centre, definitely first grade standard and almost certainly in the rotation of Talau, Kepaoa to be picked in first grade, but it was a great decision to let him go to get Laurie.

Our squad/team is stronger with him gone and Laurie at 1 than it would be with Momo at left centre and Mbye at 1 or AD at 1 and Mbye or someone else at 6.

It shocks me tbh how many people put so much faith and hope in a bloke who is a marginal first grade player.

Not sure if we made the right recruitment decision, but he made the right decision for himself

So I take it in your opinion our centres are Talau and the other is Kapoa next year. One is coming off a full knee reco and has played one good game out of ten and the other has butter fingers albeit improving slowly. God help us if Talau breaks down because our next best is Gildart. The 2 games I have watched of him doesn’t give me to much confidence in that move. He has even cost us more than what Momo was on. Maybe we should learn to be patient for once so we can build our squad full of half decent first graders instead of once again being exposed in the centres ( or wing) if we get an injury as we were this year.
To get a good team you first have to assemble a good 30 man roster in which players like Momo are gold. You know the ones that are on minimum wage and do a job for you in multiple positions. We actually need a few more of them but we keep getting rid of them for some reason and we are going backwards as the ladder would suggest. Maybe I think a bit different to you. Respect your opinion though.

No your right but he would have been here already for us to offer another contract. As it has turned out he left we got an injury and were exposed in the centres to the point that we had to then chased another one from the Brisbane comp.

As it turned out we got an injury and we were left exposed in the centres to the point where we were using fullbacks five/ eighths and we even went to the Brisbane comp to get a fill in. Next year we have an unproven pommy coming to fill the void that has potentially cost us more from the cap. We seem to keep chasing our tail a bit mate. Sometimes the answer is between our own 4 walls.

Except we were going into this season without a recognised fullback, we had options at centre. None at fullback.

I worry about people who constantly look at the what could have been scenario to this level. It can not be good for your health.

What does any of that have to do with topic of the thread? We got Laurie for this year and Momo wasn’t contracted for next year.

How does this thread still have legs?

I've seen many lament threads come and go, but a 100+ comment personalised thread for a player who has managed just 33 FG games for 4 clubs in 4 years... I don't get it.

I opened the initial page and just came back to see the last post to see if there was any reason for it to remain outside the Lament thread.

No comment other than that.
