We Should Re Sign Tim Moltzen

Sheens was quoted in the current edition of Rugby League Week saying the club wants to re-sign Moltzen and all the players like having him around. While he can come up with some rocks and diamonds performances, **it sounds like a new deal is imminent**.

I heard yesterday, a three year deal is about to be signed.

Our signings so far this season are all over the place . If he can continue his improvements I probably don't have an issue with signing Moltzen , but with our other signings and current players we are giving lots of mixed signals too many players on the roster which can't be a good thing

My question is if he is re-signed what position is he going to play?

1\. Tedesco
2\. Ryan
3\. ?
4\. Lawrence
5\. ?
6\. Sironen
7\. Marshall

And if its a three year deal that would be a huge mistake, there is no room for him. I dont want to see him defending in the centres. The only position I can see is being the token utitility back bench player? I would much rather see that money kept for the kids, we have U16s, U18s, U20s all performing brilliantly. There must be at least a dozen exciting backs ready to crack first grade within the next 2 years.

I agree. Is he better then Tedesco or Sironen ? Does Sirro go into the backrow and Moltzen to 6.

He is a great runner of the footy so maybe he could slot straight into the centres That would give us a much speedier backline.

I think though the club needs to sort out where Moltzen is going to play. I see him as a starter and definitely not a bench player.

Can't do anything right can he?
Scores the matchwinner two weeks in a row and his own teams's supporters still can't find a good word to say about him! :crazy
Complain when he doesn't attack the ball , then complain because he does. :crazy
Even to the point where he only scores because he puts himself in the right position….duh :crazy
It obviously hurts some people to admit they were wrong - and he actually does have some talent.

I think many dont like him as a person, much like they wouldnt support Lui.
You know there are certain ways a man should behave
No respect here

Might be drawing a long bow there Ink comparing a bloke for being a recalcitrant on the field to the other bloke for his misdemeanors off the field.

Not comparing what theyve both done….the point was many wouldnt support lui for what he did, I find it similarly difficult support Moltzen, dont like how he's handled himself over the off season and at time on the paddock. Its just me.
Im sure most here wouldve had players in their club they disliked for whatever reason at one time or another.

Can't think of too many over the last 35 years.. Hopoate comes to mind …. that's about it.
You've been through the same era as me .... How many others can you think of ?

Firstly want to say any attempt to compare Lui and Moltzen as men is disgusting and sad - one bloke bashed his preg ant girlfriend while the other mearly had a simple contractual dispute which happens in the real world all the time no harm done.

Moltzen has been playing great last few weeks , I say resign him he is a great 14 but also a great fullback and a great five eight, solid halfback , etc and if you really believe everyone in those positions will be fit all the time then your kidding, look at this year both Sironen and tedesco injured and tedesco might well take time coming back

I'm sure most disliked beau a few years back… Now most love him

SIGN HIM NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what i've seen, females seem to think he's easy on the eye. That wouldn't have anything to do with why your such a big supporter and want to see him re-signed would it?

It's not a bad thing to have too many good players.

Perhaps Sheens & Co have decided that Tedesco & Sironen don't need to be rushed into 1st grade? Anasta might keep young Sironen on the bench next season while teaching him how to be a consistant 1st grade professional. Maybe the coaching staff see Moltzen helping ease Tedesco's move to full-time 1st grade similarly. Moltzen has the added benefit of being able to play half, 5/8, centre & fullback- it's certainly not a bad thing to have flexibility like that.

As for Tigers that I didn't personally like- was never a great fan of Field or Craigie. Towards the end Teo could have jumped off a bridge for all I cared. Bronson Harrison never inspired me.

i prefer Moltzen to all those guys.

And his off-field drama involving his contract was equal parts the fault of the club.

Moltzen is getting back to his form that we seen at the end of last season we will sign him i c him as our fullback everybody talks about tedesco like he is a superstar fullback who will automatically get the fullback position as soon as he is recovered all he has played is half of a game for us hasn't proved himself yet!! Moltzen is our fullback he keeps on playing good other players will have to fight to get that spot which will b great to c

Moltzen is swell. He's a seriously committed Tiger and I appreciate that. The fact that despite constant criticism from the clubs fans, numerous overblown reports about his form and lashback about the Dragons deal, he still comes back from it and puts in good performances leads me to believe that eventually, when he strings it together and those other things fade, he'll become a really, really great player. He already provides a hell of a lot for us and has shown that he is capable of ironing out the flaws, it's just a matter of focusing with Moltzen imo.

Go fella.

5\. Toyota Cup Player
6\. Sironen
7\. Marshall
13\. Anasta

14\. Moltzen

We need him incase Marshall/Tedesco get injured, it''d be nice to have both Humble and Moltzen to fill that role.

I doubt that the people who wish to re-sign Moltzen have watched his play this year. If they had they would have seen a player who is a very tentative attacker of the ball, a very tentative defender, a hopeless catcher and kicker of the ball and generally a waste of space.

There are a lot better players in reserve grade and the NYC than this fellow.

Bench if anywhere.

When tim sheens says we want to re sign him that means its a done deal lol and why not keep him his a good player and hitting his form lol and he wants to be a tiger for life to.

problem is…where does he fit it? we have tedesco at fullback dont need wingers and benji at halfback we also have humble on bench,,,,

2013 Timmy to wear 14… see ya later Humble. While Humble has been a decent fill in this year due to injuries, I think with a full team next year he gets left behind.

But humble would be on a third of what Moltz is, so if you're going to play a utility off the bench for 5 mins a game, why not choose the cheaper one when they have a similar quality

I cant argue against any of that.
