We Should Re Sign Tim Moltzen

I would definitely sign Moltzen as he can play multiple positions and seems to be an important part of the team in respect of squad morale?

Last few games have been solid and now the Dragons fiasco has died down can be an important part of success for 2012 and beyond!

Wests Tigers fullback Tim Moltzen not yet offered new contract by club

THE future of Wests Tigers fullback Tim Moltzen remains uncertain, with his agent sounding a warning about the club's failure to table a new contract.

The tug-of-war between the Tigers and Dragons over Moltzen became the biggest contract saga of the summer.

Moltzen knocked back a three-year contract with the Dragons on the grounds he was "depressed" about leaving Concord and carrying a serious shoulder injury.

Now six months on, the fullback remains unsigned at the Tigers beyond October.

"It's a major concern. With all the kerfuffle that went on last year, I'd thought we'd have something sorted by now," his agent Martin Tauber said.

"Have the decency to let the boy know what's going on. No wonder he's had uncertainty his entire career.

"The club have a lot to answer for that debacle last year. There's no point hanging the kid out to dry for somebody else's mistakes."

Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens and chief executive Stephen Humphreys confirmed that the club was in discussions to extend Moltzen's contract.

But Tauber told The Sunday Telegraph he had opened negotiations before the start of the season and was becoming increasingly concerned at the club's failure to submit a formal contract.

"That's with the club and the manager at the moment. I haven't spoken to Warren (McDonnell, Tigers recruitment manager) about it in the past few days, but the last instruction was to sit down to try to sort it out," Sheens said.

"It's not an issue from the point of view of having to be done today or tomorrow, but it's certainly something that we want to sort out soon."

After turning their season around, the last thing the Tigers need is any form of off-field distraction, especially after all the upheaval at Concord over player movement months ago.

Humphreys remained confident the club and Moltzen could come to an agreement.

Thats the comment I find funny Humphrey's says "I believe the club and Moltzen could come to an agreement "

Could but probably won't Thats actually what it means

Theyll keep him

Unless it is a dollars issue it would of happened by now Ink in my opinion .

If they definitely wanted to sign him they would put a more positive spin on it

Why not say "I am confident that Moltzen and the Tigers WILL come to an agreement "

Somethings not right

Betcha its cap - someone in Tigers admin has probably flubbed a "carry the one" somewhere, and now they are 100k shy of what Tauber wanted/expected.

I'm sure he's got a plan B after all - Here's how I see it playing out -

_"Hello, is that Bodene?
Bodene, it's Martin Tauber how are you? Yeah yeah mate, I'm well, can't complain.. yeah, yep. Ah nice, nice.\
\
Mate, just a question. Wondering if you are willing to take a bit of a hit on your first year at the Tigers champ?\
\
Yeah, of course I'm serious! Why? Well sport… you see, we have a bit of a sticky situation with Moltz's contra.... Hello? *Looks at phone* Hello?? Bodes? You there bud?"_

i hope we dont re sign him only if he is happy playing 14, but even when he was thrown around in diff positions he wasnt any good in either position last year, i say get rid of him and use a young up and comer on the bench !

All I hope for the kid is that he doesn't end up a bloody Parramatta. No better way to find yourself looking for a "real" job.

Humpty didn't say anything, it's a journo stating, "humphreys remained confident that Moltzen and the club can blah blah blah"

was with parramatta staff yesterday.

He lives with Matt Ryan I'm pretty sure, so could be a reason he was around Parra. Maybe watching their game?

But in saying that, he'd be a sweet fit for their five eight spot as Roberts is going terribly

For his own sake, I really hope he can get a gig elsewhere. I actually dont think it is good for him to stay here. He needs to get out and forge a proper career elsewhere away from Tigers, away from Benji and away from the fiasco of last year.

he will be at the roostsers

well not really but that many people say he will be going everywhere.. roosters seem to be getting or trying everyone else

As a career move he made a big mistake by backing out of the dragons deal
They were a team that had the fb spot for him, hb when hornby retires and 58 if soward does go to Japan

What other clubs are there:
Parra maybe
Roosters (when mini retires or if Pearce goes st George)
Raiders (he's probably better then mcrone)
Warriors(vacant 5/8… But they don't really sign players)

Union or super league

Does he manage anyone else besides Benji and his handbag? i've never heard him linked to any other player

I imagine you are calling him his handbag because they are friends and shared a house together?
The other person sharing with them was Tuiaki - I suppose he is also Marshalls handbag and that's why the club looked after him when he was injured?
Fair enough if you don't like Moltzen's play but to resort to juvenile comments like that put you in the same category as those who don't like him just because he's good looking (maybe he should look like Sam Backo?).
As his form has improved so has the team's - same as last year.
All the talk about Tedesco wearing the No. 1 next year is just that - talk.
30 minutes of first grade doesn't guarantee he will walk into the fullback spot next year - especially after such a bad injury.
Hopefully for the Tigers he does come back and lives up to the hype - but if he doesn't then Sheens will need Moltzen.
Can't see them not signing him - but I suggest the real reason for the Taubers story was to let other clubs know he was still on the market and to speed up negotiations with the Tigers.

Perhaps he is waiting to see what happens with the 2 extra sides if and when they come into the comp

If the CC get a side , you would think he would look seriously at them

I know you're not keen on him , happy , but Parra would take him in a heartbeat .
Plus he played with Hayne and Mannah in the Aussie junior rep teams.
