We Should Re Sign Tim Moltzen

Mate , he hasn't put a foot wrong lately.
By the end of the year all your personalities will love him.

Last year we moved him round a fair bit for most of the year, once we put him at fullback and left him there after 4 or 5 weeks he was sweet and played strongly from then on, this season he spent all off season and the first few rounds at half, it once again took 4 or 5 weeks and he has now been pretty good for the last 4 or 5, i expect him to kick on and play good footy for the rest of the year

Does he manage anyone else besides Benji and his handbag? i've never heard him linked to any other player

I imagine you are calling him his handbag because they are friends and shared a house together?
The other person sharing with them was Tuiaki - I suppose he is also Marshalls handbag and that's why the club looked after him when he was injured?
Fair enough if you don't like Moltzen's play but to resort to juvenile comments like that put you in the same category as those who don't like him just because he's good looking (maybe he should look like Sam Backo?).
As his form has improved so has the team's - same as last year.
All the talk about Tedesco wearing the No. 1 next year is just that - talk.
30 minutes of first grade doesn't guarantee he will walk into the fullback spot next year - especially after such a bad injury.
Hopefully for the Tigers he does come back and lives up to the hype - but if he doesn't then Sheens will need Moltzen.
Can't see them not signing him - but I suggest the real reason for the Taubers story was to let other clubs know he was still on the market and to speed up negotiations with the Tigers.

Bit touchy today ay Ck? the funniest thing about you, is that you claim you're not a Moltzen lover, just someone who doesn't like the criticism he recieves. Pfft as if, you worship the guy. You defend him against every single negative comment on this forum, you never stop. Even little off-handed meaningless jokes like mine get long winded, mr serious, stern replies. Just admit it, you love the guy, thats blatantly obvious

I was one who rubbished Moltzen earlier in the year and believed he should have been dropped to NSW Cup.

Credit to him and credit to Sheens for lifting his confidence, he is playing really well and putting his body on the line.

Although I don't like the fact he's a confidence player. When he decides to have a poor run of form could become costly for us.

My heart says keep him my head says let him go.

iTS JUST LIKE LAST YEAR, ITS TAKEN HALF A YEAR FOR HIM TO FIND FORM AND START PLAYING WELL
sorry caps lock not typin it over

Lol …. You're getting upset Ink ... I can tell !

Oh well ... At least you've acknowledged he is playing well ... That's a good start !

Ive **NEVER** heard anyone say they dont like him cause he's ''good looking'' 😱pen_mouth:

Is this a quiet personal opinion slipping out?
Maybe Gunners is close to the mark.

Moltz is playing 'well'….. Tedesco until injury, was playing 'outstanding' in nyc and trials. I think Moltz is worth keeping, but not at big $ as in my opinion he's just warming the seat for a freakish Tedesco to come back.

Bad injury ? Didn't Moltzen have exactly the same injury or don't we use that excuse anymore.Tedesco is still very young he can play NYC again next year till he fully recovers but he doesn't strike me as the type who would do anything half hearted and is probably working as hard as he did at the start of the year to return 100% next year.

It's criminal what happened to him on his debut but I don't think that enthusiasm and attitude he has will change. Just like your boy he doesn't change, we know what we got last year and what we got this year and if resigned we will get it again next year.

might not change his enthusiasm but it will certainly hinder his playing 1st grade for a good half a season.. possibly the whole season.. he is younger then Moltz was… less experience in 1sts and his confidence will be shot.. i wouldnt expect him to be back to 1st untill at least mid to late 2013 season... plus Sheens wont risk it being so young

Hate to have to tell you Gunner but I don't have man crushes (not sure if that was one of your litte off handed meaningless jokes?)
If any other player was copping unwarranted personal criticsm I would stick up for them , too.
PS. I'm too much of a narcissist to worship anyone except myself

So if he is tearing the NSW Cup /reserve grade a new onw we leave him there for half a season

I understand the logic to a degree Rex , but if he is the best fullback and showing no signs of issues we should get him back the NRL side asap because he is the best fullback at the club

One thing we should do is not waste our time about timmy moltzen he will be re signed we all know that. Lol he wont get out of contract to play 1 year with us for sure they told him he will be re signed sometime during the year.

of course… but i dont think he will be ripping them a new one straight off the bat.

I dont know many players would be .... the injury would have been a big blow.. he just made his 1st grade debut and lasted how many minutes.. that will be in the back of his mind for sure..

What a noble deed CK, that you would protect any player from unwarrented criticism. Its funny i never saw you protect Lui last season, infact you were the ring leader when it came to his critics. You're the only one going on about his supposed good looks and man crush's, so your true motives may be finally coming to the surface

You seem to leave certain parts of my comments out , Gunner(on purpose?).
I said I would stick up for any player copping unwarranted 'personal ' criticism.
My criticism of Lui was never personal - in fact is was all about his poor defence (and the fact I thought he was too slow).
I have even refrained from saying too much about his personal problems because I was a harsh critic of his and didn't want to be seen to be putting the boot in.
My comment about Moltzen's looks being brought into discussion on occasions is true ( along with a lot of other silly stuff that I really shouldn't need to dredge up ) - you only have to read back in this thread see that.
I'm not sure what you think my 'true motives' coming to the surface are?
Methinks you are still stung by the criticism of Lui last year (maybe **you** had a mancrush on him) and how now , because of his actions , you'll never have your opinion proved right.
Either way IMO Moltzen should be re-signed just to keep half of this forum in permanent outrage.

Stung by criticism? sheesh your clutching at straws fella, i could care less these days. And as for trying to turn the man crush issue around on me all because i brought up your criticism of Lui, well thats also straw clutching. Your not a relo of the handbag are you?

And you were calling me touchy?
No - I'm not related.
Why can't you just accept what I said - I don't condone unjustified personal attacks on the players (any of them).
To criticise their peformances and debate it on the forum is fine with me - when it gets down to some people making ridiculous , uninformed statements about how they think or act, or their private lives, then I believe we overstep the boundaries.
Anyways - I'm sure everybody is tired of our tete-a-tete so I think we should agree to disagree on this one.
