Good luck to Webster, he has taken over a rabble: both on the field and off.
Sincerely hope the boys play with a bit of passion, pride and commitment for him…..that will be half the battle for him.
Would love for him to be a success and if he finished up the long-term coach of our club I'd have no problem with that whatsoever if he was getting positive results. There is no guarantee that paying a $1 million per annum coach to come here is going to result in success, none whatsoever.

Actually, put some novelty glasses and moustache on Pascoe and he'd be a dead ringer for Flanders.
 
Everything he said in that interview sounded very genuine. He seems like a no bullshit kind of bloke, which could go a long way.
I'm hoping his work with Brooks and Moses and the rest in the past shows over the next couple of weeks and the game plan that he rolls out is more suited to the players that we have.
Best of luck to him, I really hope he makes the most of this opportunity.

Now we can only watch in hope that we don't lose by too much and the boys re-act well to new situation to start getting wins again. We are lacking an experienced head to keep the ship on an even keel, to console the boys not to panic and to consolidate our game plan and play.
 
Our defence this year has been so compressed, we have thrown so many bodies into the centre and the edges to try and protect our little men, but any team that can spread the ball quick will have a field day, so I have grave fears for Sunday. Cronk will have a day out either quick long passing game or his clever kicking game.

As I said in a previous post when Goodwin, a world class plodder can amble over for 3 trys, hate to thinks what a good side will do

Fairy tales very seldom come true!!! Would love to see him turn the joint around, but these days the coaching part of the job is just one part of the job, you need a coach with plenty of profile.

The club and its players now need a disciplining, smart but not overly overbearing coach to guide them through the next few years.

And Webster isn't those things ? How do you know ? I mean he has worked at 3 NRL clubs and in the UK and US - Coaching for many years despite being only 34 - which indicates he is a career coach who having been hired and gained experience across a variety of teams and to be appointed interim coach over bigger names in Sanderock, Stringer, etc is a good sign. I mean he has been a professional coach since he was 22

You forgot to mention that he also coached Moses and Brooks through their junior football. Look I don't have any problems with him being the permanent first grade coach at all provided he shows himself to be a worthy first grade coach. The only way to be fair to him is to not judge him just on his first couple of first grade matches. He needs to be judged on his first grade performance throughout the remainder of this season. The downside of that of course is that WT will have to hold off naming a coach for 2018 until at least August 2017\. I sincerely hope he makes it.
 
Jason Taylor hasn't spoken to him. Surely he's had 5 minutes to return his calls. I'd imagine Taylor is cranky at the whole world, but Webster had nothing to do with his sacking. Petty act by Taylor imo, but doesn't really surprise me.
 
Upset coming up , we will win this weekend as it happens a lot when the new guy comes in , then the Dragons will Bash us up , then the new coach will arrive

I could live with this scenario .
Better than waiting 2-3 months for a coach to be appointed .
