WELCOME BACK JUSTIN

I think people are a bit tough on him... He has come here and turned the club around off the field and we made money last year.. Considering we are a team that has not made the finals for 7 years and had increased of sponsorships etc..
I don't blame him for the Cleary leaving stuff and believe he handled that as best he could as it was a surprise for him also..
Main area of focus that does need improving though is the roster and big time...

But if we're being honest he's the guy that brought Cleary in and also signed off on all the bonkers contracts. If you have an issue with Cleary you must also have an issue with Pascoe.

Turn the Club around in relation to Cap management looks like we have done a 360 when a 180 was needed..

Cool then I hope every CEO in the NRL gets the punt when the Head Coach goes, because by that argument every CEO is responsible for the behaviour and performance of every coach.

And by that extension, every coach should go when a player fails to perform, because if you have a problem with the player then you must also have an issue with the coach.

@avocadoontoast No not really for me as the signings were for Cleary's Coaching style and not Maguire. He had a coach that he thought was here for the long haul in Cleary and these are the players HE wanted in the team so it would be hard to say no to the coach considering it's his head on the block if that don't work out. Yes i agree Pascoe is part responsible for them but I thought these players were playing well under Cleary.
We have a new coach now who coaches differently and needs the players to suit his style so hopefully they can offload some of these players to move forward... But overall i think he has done a pretty good job.

@jirskyr so are you saying that the CEO has absolutely no responsibility for the staff that he hires and their subsequent performance/decisions? Ultimately he hired Cleary and he signed off on the contracts of players he brought on. He is, at the very least, partly responsible and should not get a free pass just because Ivan moved on.

His incompetence also led to us copping a salary cap fine. And for that he is entirely responsible.

I am not saying he has no responsibility at all, but it is limited.

Pascoe definitely responsible for Farahgate and he's been punished for that. Whether or not it was incompetent is debatable, because it appears a very technical ruling.

But Tigers are otherwise cap compliant, so if you don't like Player X on Deal Y, that's just an opinion, not malpractice or a stuff up.

Especially because Pascoe was signing off on players under instruction from Ivan Cleary - the Head Coach is accountable for the roster and team performance, not the CEO. You don't expect CEOs to say "nah Ivan I don't rate Josh Reynolds as a footballer so I won't agree to sign him up".

Then a new coach comes in and gives different instructions, which is also normal and again not an error or a stuff up.

It's been long overdue and I'm glad to see him back, should help us off the field more with some added stability and he'll no doubt be pushing forward with plans for our centre of excellence also.

I was very disappointed in the position he put the club in with the salary cap penalty, but he has done his time and I am happy to give him a second chance. Hopefully he has learnt from his mistakes!
