Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club pulls out of WT

i see this as a good move for WT - its a start to cleaning up the messy board structure - the only problem is Ashfield will have 5 votes instead of 4 - in the past Campbo has sided with Balmain in voting - may see a lot of 5/5 votes now.

As far as I'm concerned. There is no reason why Campbelltown Stadium can't be built up. It's a great ground, a Leagues club next door. The train line runs right past it.

One thing I don't get is, why the hell do we only get ~10K crowd there. We pack LO but fail to crack 10K at Campbelltown

7k last game at LO

Inb4 it was rainy.

Facts are LO and CSS have a very close attendance rate.

But don't let numbers get in the way of a good guess or gut feeling.

As far as I can tell this doesn't have much impact on the JV at all.

It is still 50/50, and Ashfield will still stump up all the cash for the Wests Group.

Why WC would chose such a delicate time to do so, I don't know. Its a strange decision, but one which ultimately does not entail the doom and gloom that the amateur hacks at the Tele and Herald would have you believe.

Wests Ashfield has electronic gaming machines such as Roullette and Blackjack.
Do these come under the pokies tax?

I wouldn't believe anything the tele states bunch of dribblers.
Official club statement would be nice though to clear this up for us fans.

Does anyone have access the latest Annual Reports from Balmain, Cambo and Ashfield?
It would be intersting to do a rough consolidation

Interesting that there is no official club statement, yet SMH has quoted Bailey and Nick Di Girolamo about it, so clearly it's not a beat up.

Can't understand why they wouldn't put something out about it, but I guess there was no official club statement when Humphreys stood down, so we can't put expectations too high! Great that fans are kept informed about these things….

I,m an Ashfield member and they have huge property assets in the Ashfield CBD so you could imagine what thats worth , the club is going gang busters with huge developments for the future they would buy and sell Campbelltown.

Was a little disturbed by the headlines both articles I read today were portraying. Was glad to then read the actual going ons of the situation. I suspect this was always going to be the case given WT's were always looking to simplify the structure of the boardroom. This was an easy place to start. Wests Campbelltown have done the smart thing and the right thing in the long term. Hopefully this is just the first phase in a much desired change of structure. Was please to read the comments out of Campbelltown. The junior league out there needs Wests and for that reason WT's most definitely still needs to work with Wests.

A lot of syllables about nothing really….
One wests chair goes from one division of Wests to another,
Ashfield has been closer to the Tigers directions of late, And Cambo probably don't want the reality
of dealing with it...
It's out of thier area and expertise. From what I knew, They basically backed the Juniors anyway, As long as nothing changes there and the Juniors is thier main focus, That can only be a good thing.
Ashfield/Concord/Balmain are all a stones throw from each other, That's a good thing
Between 50% Balmain and 50% Ashfield Surely WT's can achieve the required streamline at Board Level.

is this in line with the recommendation from the ARLC?

in effect has anything changed, I was under the impression that Cambelltowns contribution was in relation to the juniors which is continuing

Maybe my above thoughts are more optimistic than they should be and there is a greater issue..

Yea spot on it wouldn't surprise me once the balmain leagues gets the to ahead it will be branded wests tigers leagues club. It's all starting to fall under the one banner of WT. Aslong as we have a strong footing in the Campbelltown region all is good. I can see WT playing a major chunk of home games at sfs and 4 or so games @ CSS.

What happens now, does this mean that Wests Ashfield are the main contributor to WT or does this give Wests equal seats with the Balmain on the WT board.Does Wests Campbelltown still contribute their 16% to WT.I'm lost here..

Now:

Balmain 50%
Ashfield 40%
Magpies FC 10%

After Ashfield buys Balmain share later this year:

Balmain 40%
Ashfield 60%
Magpies FC 10%

1 x 10% = one vote on WT board

My mail is that its a strategic move. A re-distribution of cash thats all. Campelltown to move to sponsor with assets still valuable to the club, and now more able to finance improvements.

Its a nothing change. Campelltown didnt walk into this blind, didnt take their bat and ball and run off…. it has all been assured and worked out behind closed doors. The sky isnt falling.

One of Balmains few lifelines is to sell a share, think about it.

not sure what this means, but since i live near the campbo area i have been really pleased with people like lawrence and tedesco- juniors from my area playing for the team i support.

campbo juniors will still play for WT right? :S

Yes mate, does not change structure bar the board room, tigers will still be receiving $$$ from wests campbelltown just now, in the form
Of sponsorship alone.

Juniors support stays the same, and structures still the same.

From what I hear we actually make more money…. Campelltown sponsor.

I was actually thinking that, the fact is that they are now allowed more input as a sponsor alone, only beneficial for our financials, or signing players etc.
