Wests Heritage round advertising

Are the Wests Tigers directly responsible for such merchandise…. If they were, One would think they would be selling it themselves?

I think you will find the Best and Less etc merchandise is not official West Tigers merchandise. It is official NRL licenced and therefore the Wests Tigers may not have much to do with it other than collecting royalties. If it was official one would think that the West Tigers would be selling the same merchandise. This is my opinion and I'll stand corrected if proven wrong.

ON topic though, as an old Balmain supporter, it wouldn't worry me if the played in more white and black than orange. The white and black looks better. Only thing I want is the emblems to be there. West Tigers emblem with the maggies on the sleeves is all I ask for. The rest is irrelevant.

I'm not shooting anyone down, after all, everyone is entitled to an opinion. At the end of the day, we are all Wests Tigers supporters and a win on the weekend is all that matters

With the NRL License, I believe a manufacturer with a license can do any design they want so long as the Logo's are not altered. Still though, you would think the WT would instruct the NRL for and equal share of colours when the NRL signs up the manufacturers.
On Jerseys, I would be happy if we just had two, The Blamain Heritage strip as the home jersey and the Wests Heritage strip as the away, or vice versa. They both are great jerseys and it would put a stop to the bickering once and for all.

Then we could all move forward.

I fully support Bug in this topic. A lot of what he says can be abrasive, but he is spot on here. I manage a shopping complex and just ducked down to lowes. Not one jumper has white in it, it is all black and orange. I then went to the socks section ( bought 2 pairs ) with black orange and white. Even the kids PJs were 90 % orange with some tigers logos.

The white appears to be being phased out of the merchandise to me.

I'm not the one whining there are no colours in the Jersey from the teams I went for 12 years ago....
I PERSONALLY think the team should Manufacture it's own Identity and own Stripes.
I couldn't care if the ran round in Pink and Green, Or Purple and Yellow. It is of little consequence to the football and club culture we produce!!
This arguement all Boils down to the fact most Wests supporters think Wests Tigers owe them more recognition than they do... DEAL WITH IT!!

How can one come to this conclusion it would stop all the bickering surely it only adds to the division and pulls apart the magpies/ balmain from the WESTS TIGERS.

How about next year we drop the white and the orange and just play in plain black jerseys as this would be the 50/50 colour we both share.

I think the club has it right the way they've got it. I've liked every jersey since we started except the Radisson Maine 2004 version I think it was …....... apart from that they've all been good.

The club and the majority of its fans want a stand alone club ,stand alone officials and stand alone jersey Granted the jersey should have the three colours of the merged clubs but that is about it . I understand where you are coming from. But this year in 2011, the club has failed miserably to do that.

So the best way for it to move forward with no bickering, is to have one absolute Balmain jersey, and one absolute Wests Jersey.

That way there can NEVER be any bickering. NEVER.

Bug to be honest I don't like the Balmain Heritage jersey and the only Wests Heritage jersey I liked was the one we wore when we played played Brisbane last season .
My point still is we are not Balmain and Wests anymore Bug and the only way we will get away from the Wests v Balmain bickerings is to create a new club that ALL of us can be proud of that is moving away from the Magpies and Balmain Tigers history .
That is their history and I still believe in some ways we are held back by it .
Bug please don't think I'm having a go at you mate Love your passion for what you believe in ,but its not what the club needs anymore

I can't find the story online (other than League Unlimited), but there is a small article in today's Terror stating that channel 9 has backed down to Brisbane and will move the round 26 Brisbane v Manly match at Suncorp to a Sunday 3pm kick off.

This is to allow Darren Lockyer's last match at Suncorp to be a 3pm kick off instead of Friday night which was 9's preference.

How about that…..

Heritage rounds are a joke. It is laughable the NRL trying to compare todays game to yesteryear. TOday's players are all made of glass for starters.

Don't stress Bug, be like me. Just wear your Wests Tigers (Magpie) jersey to every game. Also the word "Tigers" have never been shouted from my mouth. Sorry to steal your thunder Alien but "C'mon Wests"

I get the feeling that most of the Old Balmain Fans here Don't care about the colour of our strip.
I heard no Gripes when our 10 yr Jersey was mostly white (Very reminisant of the alternate Maggies jersey from the 90's)

I really liked this post.

ive always been of the opinion that it isnt a new identity, its a 50/50 club of wests and balmain. if it was a new club it would be called the Sydney Magic or something, but it isnt, its the wests tigers and i find it disrespectful when someone questions the 50/50 nature of the venture and you just shout him down. walk a mile in a wests fan shoes and imagine if Campbelltown stadium was ever talked about being our sole home ground or something of that nature.

i appreciate the original balmain fans that are understanding of bugs and GNR's opinion.
