Well there goes my conspiracy theory then…... since WT , BRET and Wests play on the same day.....

Hey theory back on..........

Decent looking side but I won't be suprised if a couple of players make the trip up to the Gold Coast on Saturday.

I would be surprised if Laurie doesnt travel to the Gold Coast, Pritchard has been training with firsts as well.

Wasn't this game gonna be at 1pm???

3pm if fine with me. More of a sleep-in

We had a big win today 66-12\. We scored 13 tries but only converted 7 of them. Most tries were from outwide though and it was very windy so that's probably why we only converted 7\. I think Charlie attempted the first 5 conversions and only got 1 or 2 so The fullback Freeman(?) attempted the rest. We play Wenty next week I believe. Daine Laurie made a couple of good runs. Made a bust from about 30 meters out running fullpelt at the fullback with about 5m-10m to go but somehow the fullback got him down around low. Davis, Akeripa, Everingham played good. Stolk looks strong. So did another forward. I think it was Asa or Betham. Charlie has some good footwork and Waters did some good plays setting up tries but doesn't always pass it out when we have a overlap. The halfback made a bad read in defence which enabled Auckland to make a brake. I was watching Daine closely and he had a mixed game. A couple of good runs, one of them he ran right through. Made two mistakes trying to offload. Set up a try with a kind of flick pass/offload from outwide believe it or not. His support player must have ran about 60 meters to score. Shannon Gallant was there in the eastern stand singing 'WE ARE THE BOYS FROM WESTERN SUBURBS' after the game. He is on crutches :frowning:

Good win for the Magpies, thanx for your report Alien. Why Daine Laurie wasn`t on the Gold Coast i`ll never know ?

Looks like he still needs to get a bit fitter. He still gets caught out it defence at times and needs to learn when to offload and not. He has potential though and I hope he has a good offseason. We'll see how he goes during the trails next year.

The Magpies certainly gave Auckland a touch up. So Laurie was ok but not great hey…Be interesting to see what comes of his manager talking with the Tigers about his future in the next couple of weeks.

Definately not great Willow but he isn't going as bad as some are saying. I am glad he is with us next year though. I think he could be useful next year if he gets a bit more fit over the offseason.

 Alien where you at the game or not…..Asa and Betham aren't that hard to tell apart.....

Sounds as though Laurie did enough to get mentioned in Leo's top 3 again..... :unamused:

I was there. Do you think Laurie was in the top 3 players for the Magpies?

Thanks for the report & thanks for the good news!!
So do the Wests & BRET results mean both make the finals? How does the NSW Cup finals series work? If both make the finals when will they meet each other assuming they keep winning?

I really hope sheens has an attack of common sense and persists with Lauire next season (& also has a chat to him & gives him something to look forward to so he wants to stay) but i'm not holding my breath.
