Wests Tigers "big news" at 3pm 2/10/14

Excellent for a minute there I was going to hear that we had extended Chris Lawrence's contract for an extra 5 years and signed up Royce as our assistant coach.

If our management class that as "big News, then. god help us for next year

I doubt they really class it is _'big news'_

I'd say they call it marketing.

Its got the news out there, everyones talking about it…seems to have worked, the more exposure, the more sales, the more income = all good

Been working all day so i didn't know about this club announcement . Glad i didn't know, otherwise i might have gotten my hopes up. We should be used to disappointment i guess. :unamused:

It only works once. The negative is that next time there is "big news" the supporters will be fully switched off.

Here I was waiting to hear that Lawrence and Galloway and Thompson have sought a release and have been picked up by the raiders and they were pleased to announce the signing of 3 top line first graders .so ISC is the new supplier wow

so, why are we waiting until 3pm? I hate this "oh we have big news, stayed tuned!" garbage.

website gets clicks
RT on twitter
5 page threads on WT forum.

someone's got money from all of this build ups.

geeze we're a precious bunch.
how dare the club hype something up? im guessing no one here works in marketing?

At least our boys will look smart as they sit on the bench, covered in ice, trying to heal and recover from injuries because the S&C team don't have a clue.

Hyperbole (/haɪˈpɜrbəliː/ hy-PUR-bə-lee; Greek: ὑπερβολή hyperbolē, "exaggeration") is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally

No idea …seriously. Was someone taking the p*ss with this announcement? New board, eh? New beginnings? Hell...spare me the agony if this is anything to go by. I think they get their promotion ideas from watching Utopia....man that's a great show...lol

More positive news Blades gear was rubbish.. Does anyone know what the quality is with ICS for the supporters gear etc ? and it looks as though we will be able to purchase the new gear in November. After years of putting off buying to much Blades gear yes it is BIG news to my ears at least.

I think people need to get a grip, sure it wasn't what some may consider "big news" but what do you expect the club to do??

We sign a new apparel sponsor for 5 years and you don't want them to announce it as big news, maybe we should have just put it under the heading of "things we don't give a stuff about", I'm sure our new sponsor and future sponsor would love the way we leverage of the partnership and give them a positive return on their investment.

One of the main reasons companies like ISC sponsor clubs is for exposure in the marketplace which is exactly what we are trying to do.

Moving from Camp Concord into a training facility that meets the requirements of a Football team in 2015 and not 1908.

Only guessing but a move to Homebush is what I would be putting my money on

I heard that the team is staying at Concord Oval for all of 2015.
West Harbour Rugby have spend a far bit on their facilities there & they have given permission to use their side of the training facilities .

It's also very likely that Kidwell & Payten will NOT be retained as JT & Moss will be having a complete clean out

The Club is moving forward , even if it looks like its only by tiny baby steps

Hard to know whats happening with the move, Mayers saying all manner of differing things to keep everyone happy….though I hardly think having a building site right next to our training base can be anything but good

We really need to get behind any development of CSS if it means having SOTA training facilities. The problem will be Wests Ashfield though, given they are inner west.
