WESTS TIGERS - COACH IVAN CLEARY..OFFICIAL

Nothing has been announced re Hasler, so id be making a late play for him before he puts pen to paper with the Dogs. It would take serious overs to lure him, possibly upwards of a million a season, but the club needs an established coach with a long history of finals. Its non negotiable.

He has experience with taking sides with underperforming/nonexistent halves to finals footy so we'd be a good fit for him.

If they go with anyone but Cleary, especially some of the other so called options, this club deserves a tattoo of the wooden spoon.

I am sure that Ivan will be nowhere as terrible as the coaches Wests Tigers had have over the past five years. In fact I think he will be one of the best the club has ever had.

I agree with you, id be very excited to have Ivan on board.

Pascoe is the best CEO ..he knows what he's doing..

When your predecessors are Humphreys and Mayer the baseline is very low…

Not sold on Pascoe.....he seems to go "with the wind", rather than tell it as it should be....

If Harry Trigabuff evers does one thing to really help this club out, it is to offer the coin to get Des Hasler to come here.

Not sure why he'd want to stay or the Dogs. He's taken that playing group as far as they will go, He's not going to take them to a premiership. If he come here, he'd be like a kid in a candy store with a blank canvas that is the entire cap. It has to have some appeal. There have been rumours that the Dogs have approached all 4 guys off contract. If true, Des is obviously keen to coach them.

Yeah but Dessie also is well up to speed with his sports science. Will he want to come to a place that has sub par facilities?

Hasler will not come to the Tigers in a million years and the reason is $$$$. Not $$$ for his contract but the reason the Bulldogs are tired of him is he spends Millions on support staff and players, he is costing them a fortune but they have the money to lose. We dont. Tigers would not give Hasler the coin to play with.

Des Hasler has been a coach for 13 seasons making the Finals on 12 occasions, getting his team to 5 Grand Finals… If you dont want that, Im not sure what you are looking for?

Thoughts on Toovey, seems like he has a bit of mongrel in him, plus he was a half back which could help our halves. I know Taylor was also a half back but that did not help us much.

God I hope we don't get Hasler.

Yeah me too, who'd want to play in grand finals?

Come on CB.

He has been horrible for the Dogs these past two years. They have been playing wingers at fullback and persist with two horrible halves. Their pack take control of the game with no power being given to any of the halves. The hooker is forced to pass and pass is all. He hasn't attracted a big name to that club since arriving.

i dont want another 3 or 5 year plan.

im sick of waiting. we need results and NOW

With an entire cap available to the new coach there is no excuse for any 5 year plan. No excuse for not having the squad he wants. It will be all on him.

So he's stale there? They've probably got cap constraints like every other club. You don't turn your nose up at proven success. That's why we are where we are. I hate the way the Dogs play but if Des came here and did that and guaranteed playing into week three or four of the finals year in and out I'm right behind it.

Its because he's stale there and does not have the cattle. Doesn't mean he can't coach. Even at his worst he still makes the finals. At our worst we almost end up with the spoon. I know which id rather.

I don't know about you, but I'm sick of talking about round 1 of next season in the first week of September…
