I liked the "buy in or leave" message. I have faith that we're in safe hands with him whether the 4 sign or not. He has enough runs on the board to attract quality replacements.

I loved that. Get with the program or get out.

I was super impressed with the presser from Cleary. No nonsense. Its clear he wont be making excuses.

Yeah this was one of the best points to come out of the press conference. He was just on triple M and reiterated this stuff. Liking him more every time I hear him. You get the impression any player who isn't 100% committed will be shown the door pretty quickly.

What I'm interested in is what he will do with assistants etc.
We haven't had many injuries since Taylor changed that side of things, but will he stick with webby webs or bring in his own team.
I'm guessing new cattle like any coach would want, but time will tell.

our injuries have certainly reduced and maybe he should be looking at keeping the strength and conditioning team. But the cynical me says hard to get injured when your not playing for eighty minutes or pushing your self to the limit.

yes you can sustain injury when you dont commit neither but hey I'm being cynical.

There are less injuries because there is less tackling and running hard 😂😂

Just want to wish Ivan the best of luck , hope he gets it right and can set us up for a long and successful future

Again we need to give him time to mould this side , it mightn't be the roster that suits his style , we need to be very PATIENT

great article. Especially the player problems.

If those bstards don't stop saying "poisoned chalice" I am going to neck someone. 3 coaches in 5 years is quite common, I've gone through the figures, Eels for example have had far more coaches in the last 8 or so years.

Agree. What I hate is that they seem to be under the misconception that we have sacked 3 coaches. The only one we havr sacked was Taylor. Sheens and Potters contracts were not renewed.

Mate Sheens was definitely sacked , remember we ended up in court

Sheens had 2 years to go from memory?

He'll bring his own team in eventually id imagine, the season being 5 rounds old already makes that logistically improbable though right now

Just joking about the missus leaving me..(I couldn't be that lucky)…VERY,VERY happy with Ivans appointment...best of luck Ivan,do your best work mate....

After seeing his interview Iam pretty impressed how calm he is and quietly confident in his own ability. I remember JT''s first interview and he also came across as a bloke who I thought could get the job done, but there was something in his body language that worried me.

Anyway now comes the hard part,to actually turn the joint around. He did say in the presser that he is still aiming for a top 8 finish this year, now that ain't going to happen without 6 clubs getting done for salary cap cheating. All I want to see is the team improve week by week, sign some quality talent for next year and give it a shake in 2018

Announcement was exactly two weeks or ten business days after JT got hung.

So they had pulled the trigger quickly or they had an MOU and needed ten business days to enact it (cooling off period.)

Is there a cooling off period for coaches?

What about the head on Pascoe. Its even longer than Langmack's.

Perhaps she'd be better off leaving you if she knew how you little you thought of her.

Coaching appointments don't have cooling off periods…I think blind fred can see this due diligence was BS and Ivan was lined up well before the trigger was pulled on Taylor..

I believe the sticking point was the initial reluctance of the Board to give Ivan complete control of the football operations.. then with all the Dessie drama that followed a week later they realised that it was the only and correct way to go to secure Cleary and for Cleary to accept the Job...

The next thing I'm keen to see are the types of players Cleary can attract to the club. Everyone with half a brain knows we're weak in the forwards and we'll go a long way to securing Woods if Cleary can bring in some extra muscle to help shoulder the workload.
