I know that but I just had to have a dig  She's probably right about the JC comment tho - I've been thinking that myself lately and she deserves a VC medal for having to put up with you.

By the way, how's your tipping going lately?

I like what he is saying. He seems to have sussed out the problem that the Tiges have had for years…..collective attitude and mental toughness. Get this together and attack/defence hassles fall into place. Hope he has some luck

bloody terrible,I have to get Wehbes phone number off Teddy,I need him to get inside my head and sort things out….I'm normally a genius at tipping, but have been going the wrong way lately and the starts are killing me...I blame that bugger FT for that....

There are a couple of things that worry me about this appointment. First is his complexion. No, he's not pasty faced but there's something not quite right about it. I guess we'll be able to put the finger on it after a few losses.

Secondly and there's no getting away from it, is his hair. Has anyone noticed his hair is so thick that his part is only a few centimetres long and how grey it is? This is bound to get under the skin of a few players with receding hairlines but more important is how the forum sees it. Just as with his complexion, I can see him being called some really nasty names on here if we lose a few games.

I don't know why but I fear for his feelings.

Seriously the stuff that some of you guys buy into, or don't buy into, from press conferences amazes me. Hate for what JT says in public, hate for Woods not being decisive enough about his future, hate for Moses and Tedesco for commenting "like millennials", but a sort of fuzzy warm "like" today of Ivan Cleary because he's new leather without much baggage or worn excuses.

His press conference today is meaningless - his comments, his poise (or lack of), his demeanour, his bagging or not of previous management… all mean nothing today. He's walked in, talked to some people, arranged his desk how he likes it and answered a few emails.

I am pleased Cleary is on-board, now let's have the footy doing the talking.

I am quite neutral on his appointment. We have needed a cattle drive for years now and we still do now. When this happens I might be more positive but so far noone has delivered the goods.

Well the cattle drive was a disaster Sheer , The Apaches scalped all the Cowboys and the rustlers took whatever cattle were left to Wyoming and Colorado

great article. Especially the player problems.

If those bstards don't stop saying "poisoned chalice" I am going to neck someone. 3 coaches in 5 years is quite common, I've gone through the figures, Eels for example have had far more coaches in the last 8 or so years.

Agree. What I hate is that they seem to be under the misconception that we have sacked 3 coaches. The only one we havr sacked was Taylor. Sheens and Potters contracts were not renewed.

Mate Sheens was definitely sacked , remember we ended up in court

Apologies. I thought he took us to court over unpaid wages. Cheers Happy

Bloody Kiwis to worry about then 😱pen_mouth:

And their interpretation of a sheep drive is slightly different to ours :astonished:

The Tigers never sacked Mick Potter, they just never renewed his contract.
His contact expired he was not sacked.

Yes! Thank you.
I've been reading over and over about all these sacked coaches and it had been irking me Potter is conveniently added in for effect.

Anything to sell newspapers. Reporters are long gone in the industry now they are story tellers.

After seeing his interview Iam pretty impressed how calm he is and quietly confident in his own ability. I remember JT''s first interview and he also came across as a bloke who I thought could get the job done, but there was something in his body language that worried me.

Anyway now comes the hard part,to actually turn the joint around. He did say in the presser that he is still aiming for a top 8 finish this year, now that ain't going to happen without 6 clubs getting done for salary cap cheating. All I want to see is the team improve week by week, sign some quality talent for next year and give it a shake in 2018

The season's not dead just yet. Looking at the table,we are only 1 win out of the top eight right now. We could turn it around very quickly.

Most of us may not remember, but we started last year like this and came within 2 points of playing finals (literally 2 points - Melbourne and Titans games 😕 ).

This year we'll need 28 points to make the 8\. To get there we need to win 11 from 19 remaining matches….actually...now that I've done the sums, it looks like a pretty tough ask :unamused: .

Congratulations Ivan now I would be telling every player they have 4 weeks to play for contracts. No rash decisions and there offer would reflect there talent not there reputation or potential.

If they dont like it show them the road. No mistakes of the past please.

I have a feeling if the 4 amigos stay it will be on much less money for some of them.

I read somewhere that the board told Cleary to sign all the amigos but then I read that Cleary stalled signing until he was given full reign of the football department. Cleary got his way, which gives me hope that the amigos won't all get their asking price.

However, I don't think that we have heard the last of Isaac Moses

Urging players to "get on the bus" and “be part of the journey” is exactly what I have dreamed a new coach would say, and Cleary has the swagger and experience so that players and fans can believe it.

I believe it.

Ivan, we are always on this bus and and can't wait for a new journey.

Welcome aboard and may your appointment be the start of unbridled success.
