We signed a 10 year deal in 2013

Games in the bush usually end up costing the clubs money, so it makes sense to not risk minimising income from the cash cow and take games off LO and CSS where we have expenses anyway.

But the club can create a new fan base and grow new supporters.
This could lead to more membership, ticket purchases and items from the Roar Store.
I think if we pick and stick to a bush town we will eventually make a profit and some very happy fans.
It's a win win

I'm with you on expanding the member base. It's important for any business.
But if playing at Venue 1 costs you zero and makes you money but Venues 2 and 3 produces expenses and makes less money, if any at all, then it makes sense, if you are to have games in the bush that will also be an expense, to take games from venues 2 and 3.
@ said:Hopefully the new membership prices reflect that there are less games to go to. Do not include reciprocal rights with other Homebush based clubs in that, as you could buy ANZ membership and have access to a load of additional events.
This disrespects their current supporter base. In 2020 we might be taking 5 games to WA to grow the supporter base. The NRL and now clubs seem to have no interest in having crowds at games, **it is all about the television revenue which will not exist in 5 years**

huh, that sucks. i kinda wanna still watch NRL without having to go to the game in 5 years time :frowning:

Why is that Harvey??
@ said:While I agree wholeheartedly that NRL needs to drive crowds and they should be focusing on that I think the broardcast money can continue but as many said it might not be jsut TV. However the increased competition from non tradiotional media companies could well drive up the price not bring it down.
I for one am excited about the 2 different games - especially someone who has been to every Leichardt game and seen how few people are at the least attended of the 4 each year. Yes we pack them out sometimes but it seems at least once a year we don't even get 10k

I think a lot of games will be only available via online streaming. Another 10-15 years and i think TV might be obscelete to the game.

Yes, usually because the weather is crappy, an out of Sydney team and probably because it was a Saturday night game or a stupid 6.30 pm start on a Sunday night.
If the club agreed to 2 games out of town they should have at least stipulated that the 3 games at Leichhardt were Sunday afternoon and the requested day and time at Campbelltown.
Been roughshod over again by the NRL I suspect.

Gee just imagine maintaining a position in the 8 for a long period of a season..

House full just means we're locking people out. Great way to increase your fanbase.
