WESTS TIGERS CRUSH PENRITH 44-16 IN NYC

Wests Tigers recorded their fourth consecutive victory with a crushing 44-16 win over Penrith Panthers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium tonight in round 11 of the NYC competition.
The win moves Wests Tigers to 14 points.
Wests Tigers opened the scoring in the 7th minute when half-back Jacob Miller swooped up a grubber kick from five-eighth Curtis Sironen to score next to the posts. Miller converted his own try for a 6-0 lead.
It became 10-0 when centre Tim Simona used his strength to slam the ball down with one hand out wide to score. Miller failed to convert the try.
Centre Matt Evans finished off a fine try in the 17th minute to score next to the posts. A barnstorming run by prop Neil Begovich saw him dispose of three defenders before he offloaded to Miller who ran downfield to put a kick ahead for Evans to score. Miller converted the try for a 16-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Penrith opened their account when centre Malakai Watene-Zelezniak outleap winger Marika Koroibete to score from a crossfield kick for a 16-4 lead. Half-back Harry Seijak failed to convert the try.
Wests Tigers went to a 20-4 lead when hooker Pat Politoni put through a grubber kick from 10 metres out for Simona to dive on to score his second try. Miller converted the try for a 22-4 lead.
Penrith replacement full-back Shayne Mosan split the defence to score under the posts in the 39th minute. Seijka converted for a 26-10 half-time score in favour of Wests Tigers.
A drop ball by Penrith five-eighth Blake Austin saw Sironen pick the ball up to race 80 metres to score out wide for a 26-4 lead. Miller's attempt hit at goal hit the posts.
Penrith replacement full-back Shayne Moson split the defence in the 39th minute to score under the posts. Seijka converted the try to leave Penrith trailing 26-10 at half-time.
2nd Half
Wests Tigers were denied a try early in the second half to Koroibete after the referee ruled a forward pass from Miller.
Koroibete was not to be denied in the 51st minute when he caught a crossfield kick from Miller to show tremendous pace to race infield to score under the posts in a 25 metre run. Miller converted the try for a 32-10 lead.
Sironen added to the scoreline when he chipped over the top to get a perfect bounce inside the Panthers' quarter to score under the posts. Miller converted the try for a 38-10 lead after 58 minutes.
A short pass from Penrith five-eighth Blake Austin put second-rower Jake Grace over for a try in the 70th minute. Seijka converted the try to leave Penrith trailing 38-16.
Begovich used his brute strength to score in a four man tackle near the posts. Miller converted the try for a 44-16 lead after 77 minutes.
