Wests Tigers' cubs must grow up

I dont care how many games u have played….if ur crap, u arent helping the team at all.

But that's the problem Simon , even many of the young guns are unproven

How people can expect us to be a side that will provide consistent performances in 2015 and 2016 is beyond me

Happy, yes many of the young guns are unproven, some have had NRL time others very limited time…

No one can expect a young fella to step straight into NRL FG and play like a seasoned pro...

Experience is gained,it doesn't come naturally, who better to gain that from than senior players of many seasons..

Learning, working hard and training with good coaching all add up to a more knowledgable player on the field...

Exactly. The expectations some have are too high. There will be highs, but there will also be lows. The interesting thing will be the reactions when we hit the lows. Will people turn on them, or will they reassess their expectations.

I'm expecting our local juniors to have a bigger go than the overpaid "experienced' blokes we bought.

By a HUGE margin…..

Yep, me too…for 80 minutes every week, week after week after week, for 24 weeks ...and then hopefully even more in the semis

Like a lot of very young kids did week after week in 05…...

No….its not like that at all...not even close
We had roughly 1200 games experience with the 17 that played the GF before 2005 even began

No ones questioning the commitment. But commitment doesn't automatically mean results will be different.

We have had a very bad run of injuries over the past two years when we had a fair contingent of senior players.
This year with a larger number of younger players would it be more logical to expect an increase in injuries?

It will come down to defence, the likes of Siro,Nofo,Brooks in the past have been a bit hit or miss. You can not have the most miss tackle in the NRL and be competive

I agree and disagree.

Yes I always believe it comes down to defence

but I disagree with who u think is hit and miss defensively.

Also, I think the main thing is moral and belief. If the squad has a high moral and they believe in themselves then that's what will bring success.

Also possession is a big factor. They will not have the experience to grind a win.

GEO,Balmainboy,I simply said that the young players can learn from the experienced players in the side, regarding Anasta,Blair and Lulia,if you ask Brooks and Moses they both stated in WT interviews how good it was to have them in the side, they both said in their interviews….

"It's great to have these guys in the side,I have learned a lot from them and how to communicate better during the game",something Potter also stated on occasions...

it isn't about the quality per say of the senior players,it is about helping the young guys which is the crux of this discussion..
Anasta helped Brooks develop in the halves wether we like to admit it or not and he will be better of for it....

I agree and i do remember those interviews.
not a Anasta fan I have never been a fan of his. Always said he was over rated. I cringed when you came to WT.
But I gained respect when he was helping young brooks.

We have more than enough experience in our 2015 side.. In the starting 17 we have 3 experienced forwards in Farah, sauce and Halatau in the backs we have Lawrence and Richards… That's more than enough...

Less than half the team and a couple that dont even play the whole 80 is more than enough??
I wouldnt think so….if one or two of those are injured as well - we are struggling.
Each to their own

I couldn't agree more … I'd much rather go and watch that than blokes like Blair and Anasta showing all their experience at fumbling and bumbling around.

Knuckles, our young players will be much better off next season having played alongside Blair,Anasta and co. Last year…

If the older players weren't there last year, then our younger guys would of been torn to shreds every game...

You can have all the ability, potential and talent in the world, nothing beats gaining experience from wiser heads,if you like them or not...
