Wests Tigers' cubs must grow up

Hey, i'm not all doom and gloom, there is a bit to excited about, namely the spine, but we need more than that. We have no back row and only one decent centre, so you can only imagine the depth, or lack thereof if any of them go down. The better teams can afford injuries cos of depth, we can't. Only chance we've got is to have a dream run with injuries

Rather than saying we have no centre or backrow, I think it's more accurate to say we have yet to see if any of our young talent can establish themselves in those positions. That's the silver lining for us in 2015, the talent is there. Now while that is the silver lining, the negative is exactly the point u are making…..no one is established.......but there is a chance, and I feel a big chance, that those question mark positions will be adequately filled.

Tigermama, love your post.

We have a really good young squad who I believe can step up to the mark. Maybe would have liked to see another back rower in the squad but nothing we can get over. Love the spine and a bit of pressure on some players who have been at Tiger town for a while will not hurt. The clean out this year is a step forward also. A couple of high payers now playing Golf or reading the Courier Mail. Expecting a new Esky for Xmas and the tigers to have a good 2015, so no whinging from this end of the world.

I must admit Im frothing to see our 1/6/7/9 on the field and firing together.

IMO this has the potential to be the best in the comp.

Brooksy and Moses have a history together, and on the occasions they combined they looked ridiculous.

And lets not forget how looked Teddy and Brooksy looked playing off eachother.

All we need is Robbie sans dramas to get back to his top form and we have a spine that could do anything.

Gloom and doomers can whine all they like, but if u cant see the potential there then its time for more beer!!

I can see the potential in our spine , but they have to put it together for a season before anyone could possibly think they are semi final bound

Every team in the NRL has loads of potential Simon

But the top sides have depth and decent experienced NRL players in every position

Forwards going forward and a defensive line minus all the holes weve had the last few years will see the spine at least get a chance to get, click and show what they can do combined.

Under the pump constantly from weak D and going sideways with the ball due to no go forward will see even the best spines suffer and fail to deliver

Didn't the Bulldogs defeat the Storm 6-4 with Jackson and Williams in the halves?

I have every faith our spine will start to fulfill their promise as a combination.

They will impress big time.

But it was games like that against the Storm, where the Bulldogs had no spine, which got their relatively average team into the final.

As Sirro said, the young Tigers players have no choice but to start mastering that kind of defensive structure.

At times they just might, but it's a big ask.

And while there's experienced players to support them, these aren't players renowned for their defense, except for maybe Farah and 1 or 2 others.

But hey that's just logic talking, I have total faith these young guns will stand up, show their magic, defy logic, and take this team to the eight.

There's the other perspective too, that while there are players that cover for others defensively, there is no incentive for the defensively weaker members to improve their game.
