Wests Tigers Finals equation

In Mid 2005 we got flogged by Broncos. Tigers were completely written off. We then won almost every game and dominated the finals and won the premiership.

Its not over yet boys. Its only round 8.

We also had near no injuries that year. But we DID have a pretty young enthusiastic team.

Honestly I feel as though with this team once everyone is on deck we will be able to give a fair account of ourselves weather that is a finals team or a wooden spooner IDK. I think it will be closer to finals contender I just wonder if by the time everyone is back it will be to late to make a push because as we have seen in recent years regular season form means nothing more than seeding in the playoffs if u are on a roll you have the advantage in the finals IMO. If u disagree ask yourself would u rather be at home or be the most on a roll team in the comp playing on the road

Look I'm sure the NRL is tossing up not even giving us the points for the byes because we've not earned them yet

Well , to the people who think we can make the 8 we are at $201 for the premiership

Get on it ,thats better odds than 2005 after Brisbane loss

It'll be a minor miracle if we happen to finish in the Top 12 imo

I saw this a few days ago and donated $5 to the TAB.

Not going to comment until after tomorrow night, a good win will change everyone's tune in an instant and a loss/big loss will just leave us where we are.
If we can't beat the Sharks following a belting like last week, a passed away player, players trying to get put in the Farah/Woods category by a new coach ("Good rather than O.K" - still not good enough), beating old team mates AND trying to resurrect a season firmly off the rails (at this stage) then I don't think anything will EVER motivate us.
This is excluding ridiculous scenarios for our club like we a) buy a squad of first graders for our team to compete with and earn their spots b) get a crazy coach like Bellamy, c) everyone gets match payments which are performance based. None of which are going to happen this year if ever.

In the recent years when we have come top 8, it has mainly been due to a really hot spurt in the middle of the season.
So, I think if we can string 3-4 wins in a row together before July then we will gain a bit of confidence and get in the 8\. However, I have no realistic ambition of doing anything meaningful when we make the 8 because I think this is a bit of a Premier League season; there are a few teams that can win and the rest are just making up the numbers.
