The job our forwards have is to go out there and run as hard as you can and tackle as hard as you can. We have forwards going out there trying to be Cooper Cronk, trying inside balls and to create something out of nothing. When you cant even get the basics right as a forward, why are you trying to take a halfbacks job? We have Adam Blair there who was on the field for 53 minutes and touched the ball 4 times, clearly his hit ups are bloody effective, averaging 10m per hit up but when you are on the field for 53 minutes you are expected to run the ball up at least 10 times. He took 1 run roughly every 12 minutes, those stats talk for themselves. Aaron Woods basically carried that pack, minor mistakes but no complaints from me. I don't seem to understand why Bodene played the whole 80 minutes and we had Sauso Sue sitting on the bench for 57 minutes? Was Thomson doing anything right that I must have not seen? Neither his stats or his on field performance were impressive. 1 of our forwards cracked 100m yesterday which is bloody embarrassing because 6 dragons forwards cracked 100m, the dragons forwards missed no more than 9 tackles in between them, that's pretty devastating considering Gavet and Blair missed that many tackles together. FFS Merrin and Creagh took 34 hitups in between them which equates to our whole forward pack barring Woods. Make what you want of this thread but basically our forward pack is rubbish and you want Brooks, Anasta and Farrah to perform? That wont happen.

Wow. No forward bar Blair has averaged more than 8m per run.
Zero fken impact. Farah is to be partly blamed for that as well as the halves. From what I could see gavet, Tapau, sue and bodene gave their 100% when they had the ball.

Forwards are supposed to know the game plan, usually it is 3 hitups and tackles 4 and 5 you go to your backs. If we had our 3 forwards there and ready to run on to that ball then Farah would have no choice but to give them the ball but our forwards are lazy.

told you gavet was a joke

Lets not forget it is only his second first grade game and he has just come back from injury. Tedesco came back and people were calling for his head, look at him now!

It'd be interesting to know when these hitups and missed tackles occurred. The first 20 minutes from our pack was reasonable and then after that they fell off a cliff. Still, with Simona Nofo Galloway and BMM to come back in, there'll be a lot of room for improvement in metres gained across the team.

Some of this anti Potter stuff is a bit harsh.

We lost Fulton early - would explain Bodene playing 80 mins.

Sue he was fried after 5 minutes. He didn't have the petrol for more time. First game after an injury wasn't it?

Can't blame Potter for those things

Its pretty sad when you only have two players in the entire squad who cracked 100m yesterday (Tedesco & Woods) then you have Jason Taumalolo running for over 200m and missing 1 tackle throughout the whole game.

Nice analysis Milky. Those forwards stats look even worse than what I saw at the game. Tapuau impressed me but I was wondering why he was sitting on the bench for so long - 30 mins is a small contribution from a starting prop.

Bodene 80 minutes, his stats are terrible,6 hitups, 47m, 23 tackles, 5 missed, how did he get to stay on with those stats,Potter needs to have a good look at his rotation,I know Fulton went down, but Bodene should have been hooked.

Twenty-three missed tackles in the forwards alone. Two players combined for nearly half of that tally. Where is the much publicised 'better attitude in defence'? I know Fulton is our defensive pace setter and normally does all the chasing and cleaning up but the loss of one man shouldn't cause a defensive unit to fall apart like that.

I've seen all I want to see of Bodene in 2014

Sue should of started in Round 1 and if he doesn't start Round 2

The next question is this

How did Brown go in NSW Cup and how many games until we blood him at NRL level again

Its scary to think in a round that saw faster play the balls and greater momentum swings than usual, our forwards couldn't go forward? I agree this needs to fall on Farah & Brooks shoulders, but our big boys looked like they had cement in their boots…

This must change, or Albert Kelly is gona have a field day on Sunday!

I wish our entire forward pack had Liam Fultons mental mindset and work rate

We would be an entirely different side if this was the case
