I don't see it that way, as fifteen years is only about half of a modern generation. As such, it can not be considered as heritage by any means. After another decade or so we may be able to call it that, but for now, our traditions can only come from the founding clubs..

Is this not the jersey with the list of WT players on it? if so I think the club has done well to incorporate our modern history into it by placing the players names on the sleeves to compliment the true heritage.

No names on this jersey. They will be on the black home jersey

I have always felt that the Magpie should be on all club apparel regardless , the Tiger emblem though different is there which is great.. Yes I was a Magpie supporter and do believe the club has to move on to the future but as far as the Magpie goes it is a part of the fabric of the new club and also a symbol of Western Sydney I have them in my back yard! Whether it is on there or not I don,t really care but the Symbol of the Magpie is more than just a club emblem its a part of the city we live and where this great club Weststigers originates from.

I'm not ageing at 47 and know plenty of WT fans who feel the link to the maggies in their 20s.

Whilst I read about our spiritual home at Leichhardt it reminds me more than ever to make the magpie on the sleeve bigger!

I disagree that links ti the foundation clubd be phased out.

Evidently, when I go to games and see plenty wearing the Phillips Balmain 80s gear these people think so to.

I see plenty of old Victa jerseys around as well and think that is great. That is true heritage and to me, those I see wearing them at the grounds, just by being there are showing that they have embraced the WT whilst being proud of where they came from. Something that can't be changed.

As far as Leichhardt goes, it has longevity of connection unlike say Lidcombe. Thus the heritage is there that allows some to call it a "spiritual" home. The former "maggies" supporters in their 20's you alluded to can only have known the latter Orana park years and as such should have been able to make a reasonably smooth transition to the WT.

Western Suburbs and Balmain are our heritage, traditional teams and now of the past. Embrace the future whilst remembering the past :sign:

-The tiny magpie has been there since WT was created
-Its only an sore point for some because its a "more obvious" symbol of Wests Magpies..

Compared to less publically scrutinised traces of Balmain Tigers legacy in WT (like the main use of of the colour Orange or the Tigers Mascot, black and gold only merchandise and the nostalgic and media focus of Leichhardt Oval being the 'spiritual home' of the Tigers etc).

As long as the Wests Group is a half owner of WT, then the tiny Magpie will always be there on the sleeve to represent the legacy of Western Suburbs Magpies. As continuing legacy was the intention of both 1908 clubs when they formed WT.

Everybody, stop everything. We need a jersey change for tomorrow. Formerguest has declared that 15 years is not heritage, therefore we cannot have a Wests Tigers Heritage jersey.

So where did you get the idea that I want to change the jersey from? In fact, I quite like it, even though I did think that all the WT players names were on it and the reprint because of errors is why there were none available until recently. Happy to see it was based on an early WT design as well.

As far as heritage goes, no declaration from me, just the meaning of the English language that we write in. The XV with the emblem commemorates the fifteen years of WT, whilst the magpie on the sleeve represents the clubs heritage.

You can call it a potato, piano or whatever you believe it is…you'll still be wrong.

Yep, well I'll be focked, here I was thinking that listening to my teachers and also using a dictionary was correct advice to learn about meanings, when all I had to do was look on the WT site.

I can't see any resemblance of a potato or anything else in that jersey either, so I think I will continue to call it a jersey

I don't think you have fully grasped the meaning of "Heritage", as it has more than one meaning. Not having a go at you, just saying.
