I understand it but I personally would really miss gibbsy and liam - they are great characters and really great local juniors - I guess this is what happens when you have a fantastic club that breeds great juniors - a victim of our own success

They have resigned but have permission to talk to other clubs, in otherwords pi## off try n get more money and we will happily tear up your contract…..it is such a business today

They both have signed contract extensions Fulton 2013 and Gibbs to 2014 I wonder if Toddy knows he is eyeing retirement ?? I don't think we should be making any decisions about anyones future just yet especially these three . All have injuries lingering . Fulton is type of utility that every club needs and would be an excellent back up for Farah if he makes origin or injuries occur . None of our other back rowers can perform the role he can perform . Gibbs is the rock in our defence he creates our line of defence speed and is the best defensive prop in the comp and has a little bit of mongrel that we need . Payten is nearing the end of an illustrious career but defensively he is still good and still has good ball skills . If he can't recover from his injuries well retirement may be imminent . I am going to end on something a little controversial but imo I would probably prefer to keep Fulton over Heighington if we signed Blair as we get more out of Fulton in a whole package than we do with Heighington and at a smaller cost no doubt . And we would have ample back rowers who can play the same game as Heighington .

Does anyone have Humphreys email? I would like to see whether there is substance to this.

we cant keep them all i spose, and its a decision to look to the future then so be it.

we lost teo, harrison, and lafranchi in a similar way when we bought the likes of galloway and were bringing through fulton, gibbs, and heighington.

its the same thing happening again - keeping keith, bring in ellis, dwyer, woods, fifita, BMM, potentially buying blair, so unfortunately losing some.

fulton to me seems like more of a loss - he is a potential utility player, and bryce's recent (read:2008 onwards) great form in defense would be a loss, however fifita, Woods, and BMM are all in their very early 20's…

Payten will be like Skando - he'll be hanging around the club, and if injuries are THAT bad, he'll throw on a jersey.

IF the story is true it will be sad to see Gibbs Fulton & Payton go but the brutal truth is we play under a salary cap so we have two options
A.Keep 3 players that have been great for our club & helped us win a title but are also getting close to the 30 years of age mark & probably didnt live up to expectations in regards of rep footy or

B.look to the future & re-sign Fifita,Woods,BMM who are all 20years of age and look like origin material& buy a superstar in Blair.

I will take option B & once again Humphries has made the right decision

This is why I hate the salary cap, it penalises success. And the irony is going by that article, we are going to lose two great servants of our club in Gibbs and Fulton to a club like Cronulla that holds the rest of the NRL back!

Find a benefactor & successful marketing department or GTFO!

Exactly sentiment shouldnt come into it option B is the right call

Would like to know what the strategy is once Heighington wraps up in 2013 for lock? I reckon he's likely to finish in the ESL. He has two or three years on Fulton, I wonder who they are looking to fill the void.

Most clubs go through lean times if it wasnt for the salary cap even we would not have survived, get a grip

Seems like a strange move to get rid of Gibbs who qualifies for salary cap concessions because of his junior years with the club and a guy in Fulton who got the club out of a barrel of mess by taking a one year contract in England
