Have been hanging off for buying stuff till this game tonight @ newcastle. Since I see 3 games a year, I wanted to buy, a home jersey, away jersey and one of the 10 year ones.

Totalling $460…. I said I had $450, and the reply was, this isn't the markets, very rudely. laughed, and serveed someone else. She said she had plenty in my size and wouldn't need to put them away when 5 minutes later, she decided to talk to me
the people in the van were ridiciously rude about things, I said i'll go back inside and ATM inside, and get the rest.
Come back, 10 minutes later to buy the gear, I try to buy it, with the answer of,

Should have brought it earlier

I'm taking my money to rebel, seriously, rude, unprofessional and wtf?

Gee, that's rough. Make sure you put in a complaint to Concord on Monday 8741 3300.

So what is the problem?
You've told us all here you were $10 short of buying three jerseys at the retail price? Why didn't you just buy two and get the other one after you went back inside to go to the ATM?
Or put down the $450 as a holding deposit until you returned with the $10?
You had plenty of other options, but to me, you sound more disgruntled because you thought you could save yourself $10 and things didn't go your way..

Hey Mark - Rebel Sport actually have a huge 25th birthday sale at the moment.

Good Point, however if I ran a business like that, id go out of business quick smart.
Very poor customer service

So if you do your shopping at woolworths and only have $450 but the total is $460 do they let you off with the $10?

So- did they just refuse to serve you, or had they sold the stuff you wanted?
nO EXCUSE FOR rudensess when in customer service however

Yeah I had one dealing with the merchandise van. Fan Day at ANZ for the beginning of the centenary season.

The mustached fellow there was on his phone and just ignored me for 5 minutes, than he fobbed off my question so I decided I would not purchase anything from the van whilst ever that arse was still employed by the club.

The response from the club was that he was probably having a bad day

Gee's some of you are being a bit harsh. For one if she was buying 3 jerseys, and was $10 short, that equates to a massive discount of $3.30 per jersey. How dare someone even consider that as 'reasonable' especially considering how overpriced the jerseys are in the first place.

2ndly, if I was running a business and someone was willing to spend $460 but needed to go to the ATM to get an extra $10, I would at least put a jersey away for them with a deposit. Seriously the people running the van sound like they need to do a basic retail course.

Woeful customer service if that is true. People will see it as bad "Wests Tigers" stuff even if the people who work on the van aren't directly linked to the club. Bet some die-hard fans could boost sales if they worked on the van….....hmmmm, I'm seeing a business opportunity.

Actually I find the service received from the club as a whole is overall poor. There is a genuine lack of interest in serving you.

I cannot believe that they would not take the $450 on offer and just wish you a good night particularly given you are at an away game after last weeks effort. Most people were looking to trade them in!

I haved also encountered indifference when dealing with these people. I am sure they get plenty of tyre kickers etc but that is true of any retail outlet. They obviously have no idea of retailing/customer service and no encouragement to sell, and if they are rude it definitely reflects badly on the product (WT merchandise). They don't need a retail training course, they need replacing because they obviously don't give a toss!
Make sure you send your complaint to the club.

I don't understand why everyone is advising lodging a complaint to the club.
The customer was short of cash. The retailer was obviously busy and sales were good.
Turning up $10 short is the exact same as a bum off the streets asking you for $10 to feed their habit..

I've never had a problem with them myself - they have always been friendly and helpful to me. But I agree that with customer service you have to always remain friendly.

I agree. I am sure if you went to Rebel Sport and said i am 10 bucks short, they would say go and get the $10 and come back with $460.

The club doesn't have to be a charity service.

The other question i ask is - are you a member? If you were a member you would have received a merchandise discount voucher and wouldn't have needed $10 extra, infact the purchase would have only cost you $440.

I'm sorry but you are out of touch on this one. Although i do think the service could have been better i.e. they could have held stock if you said you are coming back, however if someone else wants that size it is a case of supply v demand. I know what always wins!

Woolworths has ATM's… ATM is inside the ground at EAS... Guy infront of me asked if they have atm's and he said no its down or no we don't.

You can say supply vs demand, you can say whatever the hell you like
I will not buy anything from them ever again. I will go to a large retail store, like woolworths and see the profits go to a multinational rather then the team i support.

If comparing Woolworths, to WT is the same

If you owned a business and said you'll keep it aside, and the ATM and where the van is parked is 10 minutes away, not to mention gate stage not overly keen on passouts, infact, they didnt want to let me back in.

Very poorly run!

Geez, i hear this type of mentality alll the time. Sorta like the bloke who drives an extra 10kms to another servo to save $1.80 paying for petrol when it costs them $4 to get there.
WT have an online store. It's not like the van is your only time/place you could've bought the jerseys. You just wanted to be tight and save $10 and are now trying to get people on this forum to side with you.
You are just trying to milk the club of $10 and want to make out you are hard done by in stating you were willing to fork over $450 to start with. If you weren't, you wouldn't make such a statement by hinting at that you will go buy your jerseys elsewhere now.

you could of paid the extra money on EFT which they have available as well

The guy infront of me, was told it was down. Horrific conditions weatherwise, she never remotely offered when i said i need an atm

On merit, I will not be complaining, I will simply go elsewhere.
Rebel has my size, instock, $119 H, $119 A, $105 10 yr one

There loss, $100 more in my pocket!
