There are only a few things I have ever really cared about when it comes to my team

They give 100%

The opposition team respects them

Opposition fans look up the draw at the start of the year and shudder when they see what week they are going encounter my team.

What does that feel like bro? I plain forget.

Gee, one thing we have in common …..neither do I.

Next year ck… next year. You need to be patient mate. The club is building to 'next year', it was part of its 'Rising Up' for 2017; 'Unit, Commit, Achieve' for 2016 & 2015.

Just ask Pascoe. In 2018 our moto will be "I Have A Chicken With Golden Eggs" and the fans will line up in the 1000's to buy into it.

Next Year mate, its all happening Next Year. Get on the Bus!

World class dribbler…..absolute embarrassment to himself every time he appears on 360\. Hasnt got one unique opinion in his head.

This year is awful, no one is enjoying it. Some people are enjoying the hope that next year will be better. There are no guarantees, but we will have a larger pool of guys who have played first grade in successful setups, as opposed to our own unproven juniors. Some are real competetitors. Some are geneuinely good players with a lot of skill and ability in their positions. At least 4 and possibly more would have been in our starting thirteen from round 1 if they were already here.
We've weeded out a potential match fixer, 3 overpaid players who didn't want to be here, their mate has taken a pay cut because we finally got honest about where he is at in his career. We will finally be done paying our own to play against us. It is the last year I'm willing to wait, and by that I mean, if we don't see a better team rolled out next year with significantly better results it will be very hard to justify membership in 2019\. I'm sure there will be hundreds, if not thousands of fans who agree.

I accept that current administration dug this hole deeper, but it was very deep when they got here.

Given where we are now, I can't say I'm happy with this exact moment. However, I feel justified in my optimism for the future and genuinely struggle to understand why this is so hard for some to swallow?

Yeah Im thinking very similarly to you OMT, good post

Well said. That's pretty much me. With the clean slate next year we will really be able to see what the team and coach can do.

I take it 'Next Year' is next year…Bus passes as membership cards instead...I like it..

Strongly disagree. He thinks he is intelligent and articulate. These are 2 unique opinions that no one else shares.

The bottom line who cares what the Telecrap prints, its just all recycled crap by two bob jurnos. The days of having skilled intelligent people writing on sport went out the window years ago. In my youth we had people like Mike Gibson, Geoff Prenter,Ian Heads and Alan Clarkson all scribing on the league, and they were good. Okay they would produce the big headlines to drag the punters in but than they would fill the article with some substance. Sadly those days are out the window

I could say a lot about all this ….. but don't want to give any oxygen to DT "baiting" articles such as this. I am happy how things are progressing on all fronts.

Well he had to surround the record Holden Cup loss with some other fluff to make a story. That's about the only new "news" in the article.

Exactly and Holden Cup isn't exactly news either. It finishes up this season so results are not exactly a priority for clubs. Ensuring talented 18-20 years are secured to longer term deals than just 2017 is the focus of all clubs.

The only reason why they keep writing these articles is we keep clicking through and reading them. Don't click through to the DT, News or Foxsports site when they have articles like this. Paste the article in a thread or on Facebook or wherever so those interested can read it. Reference where the article is from.

If we all click through they make a lot of money, and they'll continue to do whatever makes them money.

"Running through coaches, star players leaving, six straight defeats — Tigers out of people to blame
PAUL CRAWLEY"

And thats where you stop reading.

Crawley's opinion is worthless. He has shown on twitter this year that he doesn't even understand the rules of the game. He's a turdslinger and an incompetent journalist, who wouldn't have a job if opinion writing in the mainstream media hadn't replaced actual news reporting.

A pathetic, useless germ.

Agreed, and just think about how the Roosters showed us no respect a couple of weeks ago - that really annoyed me.

Things have to change and I think we are finally heading in the right direction, Ivan is a winner and so long as he gets support then it can only be up from here.

The article is wrong! Our board would have no problems finding someone to blame.

That's the only sensible reply so far.
Everything else Crawley wrote is correct.
Time for the club to put up or shut up.

My comment was very much tongue in cheek, but i dont think the board has any reason to point fingers anymore. It appears as though we are heading the right direction and the board/coach are doing what is needed to fix our problems.

As OMT said next year is what this board, Ivan and playing group will be scrutinised on and i too may reconsider my membership or level of membership if they continue to fail us fans.

If we are in this position this time next year and this article was written i would be inclined to agree.

Rothfield seems to have a real problem with Cleary not responding to his no doubt frequent demands for information and the like. Crawley also probably expects Ivan to be available for interview, information etc whenever he and his mate demand; a view obviously not shared by our head coach. Easy to kick us when we're down. Should be a different story next year

The article is right and wrong in ways I guess.

The club has swung the axe for many years now. Coaches, CEO's, players have all walked the plank for repeated under performance without marked improvement. It's the last roll of the dice for management.

That being said, it's quite obvious that the club have recruited a decent coach, and have spent well recruiting for depth and improving the overall quality of the first team for next year. It's quite clear Ivan has a focus on making sure that the first team and reserve grade squads are competitive.

It would seem that we are on track to fare better next year and the media are squeezing whatever fuel is left in the oily rag to put on the fire as no one cares about rifts and dramas when a team is performing well (Manly and Bulldogs for example.) Enjoy the easy headlines while you can lads.

PAUL CRAWLEY, The Daily Telegraph

I’m still not convinced Cleary is as clever as he makes out. He’s a good football coach according to players who have worked under him. But he comes across as condescending, if not arrogant, when people outside dare question what is going wrong.

It is not the attitude you’d think was needed to sell a club sitting last on the ladder.

You listen to Brown explain Newcastle’s predicament and he is always respectful and forthcoming with information that at least helps fans understand the club’s situation.

Maybe Cleary knows better, time will tell.

This sums it up for me. What's wrong with Cleary? Not being appropriately deferential to the media, in the eyes of a Daily Telegraph journalist. I mean, he's a good coach but if he's going to get that right-side defence sorted out I think we can all agree that the first step has to be sucking up to the editorial staff of the Daily Telegraph. It's blindingly obvious.

Is it just me or does Paul Crawly look like he has lollies in his cheeks when he talks or should I say dribbles

Hahaha for sure he does! Looks like a puffer fish and just like a puffer fish he is a pest.
When you look at Crawley, Rothfield, Ritchie et all from the Telegraph it is really no surprise that they are bitter, pitiful old fools…..they hardly have a lot going for them.
