I'm curious tp know where the players have publicly said they don't support Maguire

Many would argue it is inferred by their lack of on-field performance.

Many would argue that it's not that it's just they are useless..

My real question is - what will it take for the players to support a coach on-field? Clearly Madge is a passionate man, believes in players, supports players, has invested very personally in the club. He seems like the type of guy you'd want to go into battle with. He's not a "grandfatherly" type mentor, but he almost seems indefatigable. He doesn't appear prone to excessive outburts, a la Ricky Stuart circa 2015.

Madge has played the game, played with elite-level players, learned coaching skills under the best coaches and then won comps in multiple leagues.

So what kind of coach exactly do we need to get results out of the roster we have, if that type of guy isn't good enough, or has worn off? How is the respect earned?

It's unenviable - I can't claim that I know how to relate to modern 20 year olds, and I'm only 41.

Those are the players that need to deadwooded.

I want what Madge said in the doco to be true.

The WTs never give up.!

I want the players and coaches that live and breathe the mentality... this is why I firmly believe getting rid of Madge will be a setback.

I am sick of going for a team that cant play for the whole 80 mins.

Agree, well said.

Keep Madge, get rid of the players.
(That don't believe in what we're trying to achieve.)

Simples.

We've all said it for countless years.

Rather a team of Neville's and Beau Ryan's that turn up and actually have a go, leave it on the field... than a team of Blair's, Anastas and more recently Brooks... that are happy to get get paid and not even try at all.

It's not that hard to understand for any trolls or Brooks sympathisers.

Thx again to out own WTFers Joel, Eddie, Steve, Declan and Garry for their time and efforts to give us the pod each week and something to discuss.

Anyone who hasn't yet, subscribe and give a thumbs up to them on your podcast App.

Thanks mate I appreciate that, I really enjoy it. Declan is on here as well. We are tying to organise some interesting pods for over the off season as well so look out for those.

I second those thoughts.

I have enjoyed the podcast all year. I really respect the time and effort taken to prepare them. They are really well done.

The thing that I enjoy most about what joel and eddie create is the content is pretty balanced. We lose very often which makes it easy for a podcast to turn into a complaints forum. You guys are always giving positive vibes where possible.

I am surprised that some fans have been critical of recent pods where Joel and others have called for Madge to go. It's not a simple or easy call to make.

I think personally that he should go for these reasons:

1) the team has no discernable playing style or strategy under Madge (this has been the case for 3 seasons). You never hear commentators say 'the Tigers are targetting X.' I think Gary made this valid point on the pod this week.

2) while Madge deserves some credit for blooding many young players the problem is that he has failed to sign the experience that we needed to complement those young players. BJ Leilua, James Roberts and Joe O have all been truly awful signings.

If he does get the sack he will look back on those 3 poor signings as being the one thing that might have made a difference.

Thanks for the feedback mate, I am a little less critical of the Joe O and Roberts signings than you are but agree with you other points.

If I lose can I burn the jersey I buy?

Blaming Western Suburbs for the current state of the club. ha.

Heard some bad takes but this must be up there with the most moronic and made by someone with either a very selective memory or severe CTE / short memory issues.

Wests are running the club aren’t they?

Sound logic. They do therefore they are.

If only the management of Balmain ( who went insolvent) were still around to guide the Wests Tigers.

I thought it might have been a heat of the moment kind of comment but the doubling down has shown it wasn't. Good luck with the Balmain Hour moving forward.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating - zero finals, zero success since Wests took the reins. I wish it wasn’t the case but it’s just fact.
