Terrell May completely dominated the Wests Tigers Podcast Man of the Match voting in Round 8 and in the process extends his lead to 9 points in the Geoff Chisholm Player of the Year Award!

Question following the latest discussion ….are there many more recommendations from the review still remaining to be actioned ?

I think it's been fully implemented. I wouldn't mind an addendum to get Dennis Burgess off the WT Board.

You and everyone else,
Wonder if he's still the top dog of the Wests Magpies board as well....

I can only see him looking to go for the full flush.

He's a fraud. From our website.

Dennis Burgess OAM is a professional musician and Managing Director of Burgess Ventures which encompasses Regal Records. He has been a Debenture Holder of ‘Western Suburbs Leagues Club Ltd’ since 1996 and a Director for the past twenty years. Born and raised in Wests territory, Dennis was educated at Christian Brothers College, Burwood and has also served time as Director of Western Suburbs Magpies.

The things he puts on his HBG bio and the WT website are mostly bullsh1t.

There is no such things as Burgess Ventures. Records show a deregisterd ABN. Regal Records is not a real record company that makes records or physical / digital media. Let's call Regal Records and speak to the CTO or studio manager. The Australian Songwriters association is something that he invented himself and declared himself director of and made his missus the CEO. He was technically in his brothers band for 1 demo/single recording and I think 2 gigs after glen left, but never seriously toured or made any significant contribution to the Masters Apprentices, but he claims he was the bass player for the whole existence of that band.

He just makes up all this nonsense and creates all these mostly fake music ';associations or ''festivals''. The ABN for burgess ventures shows it got wrapped up ages ago. He's nuts. His identity and this seemingly made up persona deserves more scrutiny if it's made up stuff. At the very least, his bio on any WT website should reflect reality and not things that do not really exist.

Agree 100% the guy is deluded if he thinks he would win a popular HBG vote rather than hide behind the clubs outdated debenture scenario.
I joined Wests Ashfield recently and had a general look around at the premises, the place is well presented and lots of Magpie memorabilia with little reference to Balmain nor Wests Tigers. This gives the impression that the place is stuck in a "time warp" which I don't think will ever change whilst he is on the HBG board.
The guy is an impediment to the development of Wests Tigers and HBG.

I haven't bothered to deep dive into his Music Business Registrations and such,
But I know what they all do (Or did back when they actually did things)
They'd organise battle of the bands that most young bands had to pay to play at, Or over glorified jam nights - Nothing you wouldn't see at an Amateur talent show.
His festivals were a hired hall and a few select (better) bands of the kids bands they'd happen across - With the bands having ticket quotas to sell - Or they'd have to tip in themselves to cover the costs.
The kinda stuff the kids bands did in High School when the principle would let them use the hall to play a show at lunchtime - To walk into one, was almost identical.

'Regal Records' is the label he started eons ago to put out his own records
- They've released very little (As Dennis has done very little musically) in almost 50 years and nothing for the last 10 or more.

I don't know if he started the ASA - I know he's had a fair bit to do with it, and I know guys that have won it... But the reality of it is, It pales in comparison to the likes of JJJ Unearthed, and similar comps run on MMM - Probably because it's him, and he has no real reach outside himself and these banners he invents for himself. And again, It all costs the bands that participate money.

Him or anything he's involved in would be nothing more than shameless self promotion,
I don't know he's ever really had a job.
Don't get me wrong,
He was definitely around in those Aussie Rock early years, and no doubt knows plenty of big names from that time - He may well even be friends with them.
But as far as his contributions go,
He's made a name (And a living it would seem) from not contributing much at all, His biggest claim to fame has always been Colin (His Brother)

Nothing last forever Dennis...

Just caught up with the Sunday pod. The total dismantling of Danny Weidler at the end was needed and professionally done. Classy.

In terms of a content fix for my morning I'm giving it 10/10. Go hard Boys.

(If possible post Weidler's article here).

Benji puts lawyers on notice

Benji Marshall’s team has had some quiet chats with lawyers in case any stories emerge from the club about his coaching methods, or private conversations are made public.

Marshall is aware of who is saying what behind the scenes as the club continues to deal with Lachlan Galvin’s claims that he is not in a safe working environment. As coach, Marshall is wise to seek his own counsel separate to the lawyers the Tigers are using.

Galvin knocked back a $5.5 million, six-year extension offer that prompted the Tigers to announce his exit at the end of 2026. The Tigers released an extraordinary statement, declaring Galvin would not be with the club beyond 2026, but that he is expected to see out the final 18 months of his deal.

It was later suggested Galvin was leaving because he did not have faith in Marshall’s coaching.

It remains an emotive issue. Tigers fans are a passionate lot, but they are also sadly misinformed. Some of their trolling is disgraceful.

This is an email I received from Steve Stretton trying to shame me into appearing on his Wests Tigers Podcast.

“Danny, I invite you to appear as a guest on Wests Tigers Podcast,” he wrote. “We are the group that initiated the petition that led to the review of Wests Tigers. We find your constant one-sided articles defending and promoting Isaac Moses the lowest form of journalism and a blight on our great game.

“Despite our reluctance to pay any attention to your articles, we would like to debate your point of view. We will be fair, professional and courteous, giving you time and space to air your point of view. Surely a man of your experience would relish the opportunity to debate a hot issue against “fans on the hill” as [News Corp journalist] David Riccio likes to describe us.

“We will let our 3000 an episode audience know we have extended this invitation to you.”

Moses is Galvin’s manager. The first time in a decade that Moses responded to a message I sent him was a couple of weeks ago. He told me he was so surprised that he laughed when he read it.

Moses will tell anyone who will listen that I’ve given him considerable grief over the years. But it’s my job to get both sides of the Galvin story, and Moses has done what his client has asked him to do.

And if anyone is responsible for this story exploding, it’s the Tigers, who made it Benji-focused.
