I just put up an opinion piece on the troubles with Wests Tigers https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/time-to-stop-the-excuses-wests-tigers/

This is how it feels for me too. I fear we have a long way to fall yet. Looking at next year, and with what we are showing at the moment, there appear to be no signs of the kind of improvement we need in the squad that will see a shift in performance necessary to play finals football. This despite the young talent we have coming through. We don’t have the quality of senior players to inspire and nurture the emerging talent and we don’t seem to be able to recruit quality players. We are a club that is aspirational but we are not an aspiration for players seeking success. The teams below us this year will improve their rosters and performances and jump over us. With no significant signings on the horizon, I think we are next years spoon winners. The positive is that the only way is up from there.

Joel the only difference with my story is that I go back to the early 60’s when I feel in love with the BalmainTigers. As you stated it’s been a roll coaster ride with probably more lows than high.
I was a 100% supporter of the joint venture and really thought this was a real chance for us to have a strong club to follow. Anyway history will tell you except for a couple of years it has been a stuff up. Bad recruitment, bad retention and continual drama basically from day one.

Anyway I think this year we have sunk to the lowest point I can remember. The team has gone backwards, there is no team work, no passion and our defence is clueless.

Huge changes are required and everyone has to be accountable, from the board down to the runner. The whole club has get hard nosed and set a high bar like Bellamy at the Storm. Anyone who can not cut it must be moved on. Changing the coach without making wholesale changes will probably not change much, but he still needs to go because it has to start somewhere. My first two casualties would be Pascoe and Madge.

Sorry for the rant but Iam sick and tired of supporting a team that is comfortable being a cellar dewller.

Don’t apologise for caring. Without supporters there is no club, and Pascoe and Co are going about it alright if they are in fact trying to kill the club.

Plenty of robust Wests Tigers discussion on this week's podcast with Eddie, Garry and Declan... https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/wests-tigers-podcast-0119/

Another great podcast. I like the different points of view. I don't always agree with them but like to hear them anyway. Looking forward to the next one.

It's a bumper edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast this week with plenty of discussion around episode two of the Fox Sports doco - Tales from Tiger Town...https://weststigerspodcast.com.au/wests-tigers-podcast-0120/

Tonight guys, always hang out for these.

Thx again

This podcast was the best I have ever heard. Balanced commentary, intelligent and professional ideas on what we need. Really hope the CEO and Board take the time to listen and take the feedback on board, positively! And, more importantly, take action.

Joel, Eddie and Steve really nailed the plans for the future direction if they were CEO.

The other guy on the pod is pretty good also...

I forget his name Lol

Best pod ever,

Great balance of discussion.

Disagree with chunks of part 2 about Coach and the doco.

This doco portrays the extreme emotions after a major failure to deliver on the park.

There was a brief montage of Madge teaching the guys which appears to have glossed over.

There is fundamentally a vacuum of leadership in the squad.

Garry, u nailed it with yr comment about "close enough is not good enough"

I'm still all in on Madge.

Very good Podcast as usual. Very hard to disagree with the overall stance. Corporate identity. Excellence with everything they do. Continuous improvement through feedback and review of decisions. Basically business 101.

P.S. SFS to be our home ground. Can’t imagine walking through Bulldogs territory and all the Bulldogs banners along the way to the Liverpool stadium.

I'm at the point where I to and fro on Madge, I go from wanting him gone to keeping him, the lack of structure in defence is a real issue for me. The reason I to and fro is a struggle to find an option to replace him that would have a high chance of getting the club to where it needs to be.

lol I knew you would like the discussion around corporate governance. You know my opinion on the SFS so maybe I should not flood this thread with that lol. Maybe that should be an indepth discussion for the pod.
