Private ownership hasn't worked out too well for the Titans.

I dont put that down to private ownership. Its the Gold Coast. No team has worked. The Suns are a mess aswell. The players go for the lifestyle.

Absolutely 100% correct! If HBG dig their heels in and are not willing to sit down with the NRL,l then end of discussion.
Clubs with full Private Ownership are:
Broncos, Sea Eagles, NZ Warriors, South Sydney Rabbits,
Joint-venture and Consortia Model:
Gold Coast Titans, Melbourne Storm, St George- Illawarra Dragons.
Is Private Ownership a given for success NO! But the club under the licence-ship of HBG has been messy and desperate times require desperate actions. But yes if HBG stand firm on their resistance then the NRL may have e to bring them to the table for serious discussions. Mr V'Landy seems to exercise a lot of sway with all things NRL.

I am an old Wests Magpies supporter and I am not impressed with HBG so I apologise leaving out Maggie fans.

Though im pretty sure if im the N.R.L ceo i can hint that they will not be recieving a renewal of their license to participate in the N.R.L so may want to consider selling while their asset still has value.

Exactly man . The nrl owns the licenses literally like the nsw gov. Owns your drivers license . They give it to you for a nominal time , but ultimately if you’re not meeting the standards required to hold the license , they can revoke it at any time .
The issue is building a case that the HBG arnt meeting the minimum standards . I think as the nrl under Vlandys tenure has exploded with money and expansion being prioritised above all else that it’s debatable .
As a football fan though , HBG are a joke and are literally the worst owners in Aus sports . We are the pre- Steve Ballmer La clippers .
Realistically , we will have to wait until the magpies loyalists on that board die off in the next 10 years , and actual Ashfield demographic club attendees get in the board re. The Asian community that actually find that club … ultimately leading to them devaluing the nrl ownership and selling it off .
Until then the ownership group simply love the power , and being in control of the battler wests tigers . They see it as a mark of who they are . Whereas the rest of us see it for what it is ;an embarrassment and shameful .
Unless someone can blow up the debenture system I simply don’t see it .

If Wests Tigers lost all memberships wouldnt HBG be able to just throw more money in to keep propping us up. If HBG lost all members then they would certainly be unable to continue financially to support the club. I dont understand enough about the set up to see how the Wests Tigers losing members and money effects HBG who have squilians.

I’m not sure the conspiracy theories about bringing the Maggie’s back are true, however I also think they are just ambivalent about the whole excercise. It isn’t their bread and butter.
Their focus appears to enjoy being the big dicks who own an NRL franchise.
It needs to become a huge pain in the arse for them to own the club. Losing games isn’t getting it done. Being flogged regularly isn’t getting it done. Player drama and terrible headlines doesn’t faze them.
Having to spend a lot more money to keep it going, may sway them.
That’s their language.

I get what your sayong now. Yeah, though its not their money, its the HBG group members. Theyre that narcessistic i dont think they care. We are just a toy they like to play with.

Could not imagine our current owners selling for less $100mil for the club.

Seems a fair price when the debenture holders paid a lofty 200 bucks each.
