Grassroots is largely not for profit too. I don't think junior leagues, and even the representative junior cups like HM and SGB are paying their own way so it does rely on volunteers. Which is fair enough. They are trying to bring grassroots to NRL. What's to hate?
All junior footy is run by volunteers. Wouldn't have league without them.
Some fans want to get close and be part of it let them be.
One could argue we are volunteering right now posting about west's tigers online. We are their social media team creating engagement and doing it for free.
I think you’d be mistaken in your assumption there. I think the tickets are probably just for the day you are actually helping out. If I’m wrong then it’s probably not a bad idea to get involved.www.zerotackle.com/tigers-launch-volunteer-army-for-2023-with-mixed-reviews-127826/amp/
They also suggest volunteers will receive two free tickets in general admission to all home games, while also being able to experience behind the scenes action.
Pretty surprised by the majority view here tbh.
1. People don't volunteer for things they have no idea they can volunteer for.
2. If I were a kid (say 12?), mad about the tigers, I reckon I would love to spend a day with my dad helping out, knowing I've actually played a small part in helping the club with its 'game day experience'
3. Appears volunteers get 2 GA passes for all (I assume, remaining) home games, so what's that worth? They'd probably go to them all anyway, so they'd actually end up saving money....
Don't get the hate.
If someone goes to the club and offers their services for free, good luck to them. If the Tigers are advertising for workers. Pay them. Simple. As the WT's do.... There's people there that work for the club and get paid
(Weren't you whinging about Pascoes salary?)
Ask her if the Dragons have volunteers?
I think we let most of those players go. Hope they’re not still hanging around LeichhardtI wonder how much behind the scenes stuff the kids will see whilst out the front of the stadium scooping up dogshit?
Ah, I get you. I could have read it wrong.I think you’d be mistaken in your assumption there. I think the tickets are probably just for the day you are actually helping out. If I’m wrong then it’s probably not a bad idea to get involved.
They're not advertising for workers - they're advertising for volunteers. If someone goes to the club and offers their services for free, good luck to them. If the Tigers are advertising for workers. Pay them. Simple.
How doesn't it make sense??? So you expect someone to volunteer for one game then get tickets too all home games for the rest of the season??? Seems a bit silly.... back in the day I used to be a volunteer flag Marshall at oran park, eastern creek and bathurst, you would put your name down a few weeks before the event, turn up and sign on at the volunteers shed, there you would receive your free ticket plus usually an extra one or two tickets for family/friends.... I never got paid, I volunteered my time, because I'm a petrol head and I love mororsport, and I think was a good way to get to the motorsport events I loved and it cost me nothing to do....Ah, I get you. I could have read it wrong.
If the tickets are for the very game they're volunteering for then that's a bit sh1t! What? Come volunteer, but you still have to pay for your tickets?!
That wouldn't be too cool....🤔
