For a few days

Hehe combine this with JT's comment about letting other teams underestimate us. You have to laugh.

We shook it off, but it's like flicking a booger on your finger - it just sticks to whichever finger you are trying to flick with. The soft tag appeared to have been shaken off, but actually it had just moved a little.

Certainly easier then picking a winner…

We never shook it off

When you concede 26 and 22 your still soft as a Tontine pillow , sorry all

And when the attack misfires this will happen again and again and again

If you want to play this footy just get Sheens back , lets not hide behind it

The playing group strikes again YAY :brick:

Do you really think were playing Sheens football??

Doesn't look like it to me.

Our forwards are trying to lay a platform and were playing attacking football in their half with some structure around it.

Last night we made too many unforced errors. Woods and Lawrence combined for 3 cold drops.

Some of our goal line defence was good, we just made too many simple errors.

To me it looks like a concentration thing rather then a style of football.

If I am honestly being realistic I firmly believe we will lose our next four games.

Manly and the warriors are good sides but not ready yet.

Errors killed them on Saturday night.

If they cut the errors in half, they dominate the Titans. Same could be said for the previous 2 games. Mental laspses.

It's a sign of a young, developing team.

If they are still playing like this midway through the year, I'll be disappointed.

But right now, even in the loss, I see improvement in the style, not just from last season, but from under Potter too. Forwards hitting the line harder. Defenders coming up with a plan instead of just running up & looking lost. It's not always pretty, but the foundation seems to be there.

As an exercise- think back to the last year under Potter, Taylor's first year & then the 3 games this year.

I'll give you 1 example of improvement, necessary improvement, that this team has made, and it's barely mentioned.

Coming up in defence as an outside back. How many times under Potter, or last year, would you see the half/5/8 or the centre rush up & in, but the guy directly outside him (either the centre or winger) hanging back, creating space out wide?

Used to drive me mad. Now, when say, Simona, comes rushing up, the winger is also coming up. Yes, they can still get beaten out wide with numbers, but it takes a 'good' pass to create that, not simply running a training drill & watching the defenders fall apart because they are not working together.

I wouldn't be surprised if we come up against a highly fancied team in a few weeks and towel them, similar to what we did to Souths/Bulldogs/Storm last year. There will be a couple of games where the team just clicks and everything comes off.

Concentration is a big thing, it just takes that one dropped ball or penalty for the momentum to swing, and too often we struggle to deal with that. It needs to change.
