Anyone else worried about these 2 getting homesick? Them killing it and then getting homesick for QLD is a bad combination. Maybe i’m jaded given everything that’s happening with Matterson, but it would be a shame if one or both of these guys become guns then can’t adjust to Sydney life.

Might be why they recruited both .....they live together ...maybe organize a share house with Mikaele

My point was when the Brisbane boys all went to Canberra in the late 80's they kept many of them together ......remember there were heaps of them Gary Coyne , Steve and Kevie Walters ,Sam Backo , Peter Jackson ,Gary Belcher , Meninga ...then did the same with the Kiwis Todd , Pongia , Wiki , Lomax etc

Simpkin a clever hooker with great defence. Hoffman with a good left foot step 40m and sets up his inside man who goes in next to the posts.

@BalmainJnr yes he does, I’m not writing him from now, he is still young, be he doesn’t have much attacking prowess or speed. I think Simpkin will progress and go further than Hoffman does.

Both played in the Hastings Deering Colts Competition for Wynnum Manly Seagulls against Sunshine Coast Falcons in the grand final a couple of days ago...Weststigers has the full game replay on its website.

Simpkin was excellent. Wynnums best. 2 try assists, lots of big plays when his team was on the back foot. Solid in defence. Top prospect.

Hoffman didn't get much ball as wynnum were outplayed all game and had two players in the sin bin so did a lot more tackling. His run and offload for their first try was excellent. Good angle, good pace and good pass at the end. The commentators were talking him up all game. Could have gotten a bit more involved.

Wyynum looked far more dangerous but made too many mistakes and 2 players in the sin bin on a warm day is a big ask. Our boys looked very promising.
