Can I vote for Chris Heighington not falling on the ball at the back of the scrum in the last minute against the Roosters last year? I love the guy but that cost us a grand final on a platter.

Yes but it should have been a penalty please tell me that the roosters didnt screw the scrum…..every other game they would have re packed the scrum or penalised except for that game.

Probably should have been a penalty, but Hino should have just dropped on the ball, then it's no longer an issue.

The picture in the back of the paper with Lamb and his feet on the desk taking it easy.

Its burned into my memory

having to keep both of the sides of the merger happy. I say stuff em both and start making decisions which are right for the wests tigers.

Letting 'half a game Artie' Beetson go wasn't one of Balmain's better decisions as it turned out.[/
not a realistic comparison there ck, but time will tell

I tell you this - I remember Beetson playing a similar style (at the same age) and he had plenty of critics saying he wouldn't last

Basing the club at Concord.

Its neutral where else then cunno

I can understand that it is neutral but it also distances the club from its bases of support. There is no easy answer and that is why things won't change but what about considering other options to move the team closer to the supporters, juniors and community e.g. use Campbelltown and Leichhardt as training bases. Keep the administration at a central location even if its Concord because logistically it would be easier, but as for training, spend half the season at Campbelltown and the other half at Leichhardt or one season at Campbelltown then the next at Leichhardt and so on. The team would get to train on home grounds, the locals can go and watch training, the players become part of the local community, people identify the club as part of their community. Maybe this could also be achieved by leaving the base at Concord but setting some training sessions at Leichhardt and Campbelltown during the year and advertising same.

Id have to do a top 5 as I honestly as its honestly too hard.

5\. The failure to develop potential players like Luke O'Donnell, Ben Jeffries (the half), Willie Manu and Bronson Harrison. All could of been somthing great (and theres alot more players to add to that list)

4\. Sheens obvious dislike for several players. Players like Matthew Head, Bronson Harrison and Ryan O'Hara would play a very decent game one week, only to find themselves not in the side next week. This really blunted the progression of a few players. How can you feel comfortable in a first grade side, if yo are constantly in and out. I honestly dont think O'Hara was that bad for us other than the injuries, when he played I thought he went alright.

3\. Kevin McGuinness, Craig Field and John Hopoate. These 3 (and I like them all), all made idiotic decisions in 2001 and It took us to 2004 to recover.

2\. Scott Prince leaving. Fair enough it happened. Scott Prince wanted to go to gold coast and I dont blame the club for that. However, the failure to recruit a decent half to replace him is close to the biggest mistake. Fair enough we signed John Morris and it prooved wrong, however the stubbornness of Sheens too persist with him for 3 years almost does it.

1\. The overall recruitment at the beginning in 2000\. All that money, and how wrong they got it.

I dont blame Lamb as much as others for 2001 onwards. He inherited the cashflow problems. He inherited a side which had its 5 most paid players not playing. We had McCracken on 400k not playing, then Kevin McGuinness and Craig Field got suspended for the season, Hopoate got sacked and Terry Hill played 5 games in the season. Take the top 5 paid players out of any side and there going to go bad.
