Wests Tigers single Biggest mistake post.

Can I vote for Chris Heighington not falling on the ball at the back of the scrum in the last minute against the Roosters last year? I love the guy but that cost us a grand final on a platter.

Yes but it should have been a penalty please tell me that the roosters didnt screw the scrum…..every other game they would have re packed the scrum or penalised except for that game.

Terry Lamb as coach.

John Morris at half back

Tim Moltzen at Full back

Trying to turn second rowers into props

Too many home grounds

yeah not keeping Hodgo is probably right up there as well as signing Terry Lamb to coach us.

Not finding a suitable halfback replacement for Prince for mine though.

This culminated in Morris,Farah,Benji and a few other poor options at halfback, this went on for 3 seasons, that is a deadset joke, any other coach would have been sacked before 3 years of this rubbish played out.

Their biggest mistake is not learning from the ones made in the past!! (I know the thread said 1):

Including:

1\. Continually playing players who aren't in form and out of position!!

2\. Buying overated veterans I.e Terry Hill, Jarrod McCracken, Jamal Lolesi, Jason Cayless, whilst letting our best veteran ever in Hodgo go.

3\. Building a defensive structure to rival St George and Melbourne

In saying that the club has also done some great things like developing our juniors, retaining talent like benji, Farrah, Lawrence and ayshford and making the team one of the nrl favourite clubs amongst all supporters, aswell as entertaining.

tempted to say lamb, but we won a premiership 3 years later.

not going to blame morris when our defense sucked for so many years after our premiership.
and he was the best defender in our backline and pound for pound one of our best in the club.

for me it was our failure to move with the times and have a wrestling program at the club.
we were the worst in the comp in this aspect and still suffer today.

the blueprint to our demise was laid out in the first month of 2006 and we did nothing to rectify it.

lol I almost forgot that O'harra was once on the books…wasnt he value for money!

For me though and like most on here it was having Lamb as coach. We were a laughing stock while he was here (hoppa incident). He should never have been appointed especially considering how he cheated one side of the merger out of a GF win.
