Happy to see Utai have a run in this trial but Brown, Latu, Tagive, Ryan and co must be in front of him IMO. Other than the Utai selection looks like to good side and a chance for a few to show what they've got.

Utai will more than likely take on the role as this forums butt end for jokes and blame first taken on by Daniel Fitzhenry, then John Morris only to be regained by Fitzhenry. Hope Utai is thick skinned.

And I thought Beau Ryan had that role all sewn up… Game on!!

roosters squad is pretty much full strength, except with the young fullback kheirallah at 5/8 and fpn on the bench so i think this might be another rough outing for the tigs. having seen the squad it wouldnt surprise me to see utai on the wing in round one, sheens always favours experience early in the comp and rarely trials youngsters early on in the season.

Symonds will likely split the 5/8 duties I feel for the chooks in this one.

I can only assume that Sheens will promote Begovich, Junior and maybe a Spence from the NYC game

How Utai has earned a starting spot on the wing ahead of Brown, let alone Latu and Tagive is mind boggling. He lacks the pace of the three aforementioned players, and can't jump for a high ball. Really struggling to understand the logic behind that choice.

Rest of the squad looks good, particularly since Payten and Ellis are yet to join the forward pack.

Is BMM injured, or still recovering from surgery?

It is a trial, so i am willing to see what Utai has got. We know what Ryan can do, and we know Sheens is a fan, so I would not think this is a sign Utai has the spot wrapped up. Also, Brown's best spot seems to be at fullback, and IMO he doesn't seem very good when on the wing.

BMM is still on the mend from surgery.

Ahead of Daniela and even Beau is equally surprising.

Thats an easy one to answer,Utai has probably joined benji"s little group of friends..

sheens generally only play 18 or 19 in the last trial and its pretty much the round 1 team. meaney might be the 3 minute back on the bench and perhaps woods has the jump on fifita

Beau is recovering from injury as i understand it. But yes, Daniela certainly deserves a crack ahead of Utai who should be playing for Wests or warming the bench for BRET.

last week utai only played in the second row and center, he may have spent a few mins at the end of the game on the wing but it wouldnt have been long. if he gets a wing spot come round 1 ahead of brown, daniela, latu etc its pretty dissapointing

Al should never have lost his Wests Tigers contract. He has been far and away the best forward in our State Cup squads for a few season and is getting better
