Wests Tigers team for Round 1

Guys, tim sheens has done what any coach would do with the selection of matt utai. If the chance comes up for a player to play their old team they usually get a run, and they put in that extra bit of effort. Yes im also worried about him under the high ball, but so should the doggies about ben barba. I hope benji puts up his rickets for barba to try and contest. Utai will make plenty of metres, so we cant compare him to fitzy  he should go alright, ill judge him after the performance, because when we signed him i wasnt expecting much, but he didi show some good things in the trial agaisnt the roosters. Brown is unlucky, but his time will come again.

Guys, as I said in my post above, I believe that Latu has been injured and is out for a month.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6551

He's been named for BRET. Don't think he's out for a month or maybe he was injured before?

Sorry mate, didn't see that, my bad. Perhaps it was a pre-season injury, which would explain why he didn't get a go in the trials. Glad he's back though, I think Latu has a big future.

yeah someone posted Latu was out for 4 weeks i know because someone asked about Latu and i passed that comment on

we should smack them in the forwards, iand I like the left side attack against idris (imo a hopeless read in defence) and turner, who i think will be physically dominated by Lote.
I originally thought this would be a tough game, but the match ups suit us, and our pack seems far superior.

Word is that Wade needs a massive first few weeks to hold his spot in the first 17\. Brown is firmly in Sheens plans. Sheens likes the thought of giving Brown a shot at fullback and Moltzen at halfback in the first few weeks.

When Farah is on NSW duty don't be surprised to see,
9\. Lui
7\. Moltzen
6\. Marshall

Anyway, injuries will guide us down a path, whether it will be a good one or a bad one I'm not too sure.

I thought McKinnon was really starting to hit his straps just before hamstring problems When we played Saints he was one of our best imo Problem is his hamstring has been a problem for quite a while at Warriors as well

Just wanted to comment on the bench - last year one of the big sticking points in team selection was the lack of size of our bench. Well, now we'd have close to one of the biggest interchanges in the comp, with Payten, Dwyer and Fifita, as well as the utility value of Moltzen. Great side Sheens, can't wait for the game.

MY opinions on the strength of the side, and curiosity over how Utai will go have been covered by others and well. Just wanted to comment cos I didn't realise how excited I was the season was about to start until I read the team sheet. It's been a long, long summer. Go Wests Tigers!

Lets hope the players are just as excited…....FIRE UP BOYS

Exactly. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to say it.

i hope utai kills it and bags a double :sign:

Me too….though I doubt that would change many opinions still...its so irrational, many seem to dislike him based not even on footy

I had a lurk on the bulldogs forum and they seem to think our pack is soft & kevin moore picked a team with a great game plan in mind, choosing a mobile pack that'll take all thrown at 'em and keep coming back.
I don't know, on paper we look the goodz but not doubting an upset, will be an interesting game.

Great side, but as you know it from previous years, if they lost this game, the critics will be out for heads to roll. The thing about all the good stufff you read on the forum, there is always some as***Les that never have a good thing to say. The thing about that is its the same as***Les who have never strapped on a pair of boots nor trained 6 days week, but know how fill out paperwork for Centrelink payments.

Looks like you need to find some good things to say We all have opinions some good some bad Your right this is a good side maybe could be better . We can go all the way this year . Anyway go to go now and fill out my centrelink form . I have played the game and after having ruptured achilles and having reoperated on a year later and worked my butt off to get fit and try and make it back just to play the game that I love again .

Not sure on Utai and can't workout how anyone could be. He's been basically unsighted in FG for the best part of two seasons hasn't he?

Yes he has. Not sure what the Fonz has planned for McKinnon / Utai / Moltzen for this game. I hope it's just a simple rotation but with the Fonz it could be anything.
