Wests Tigers team (official list page 4)

The Fitzy decision is a joke as others have said. A big slap in the face to the young outside backs at the club. You are basically saying none of them are good enough to play first grade this year.

Agreed. Fitzhenry was supposedly bought as a back-up hooker, what a load of crap that everyone easily swallowed. Only the second game of the year and he's already back on the wing as soon as we get a couple of injuries. It's a sick joke.

The rest of the side is fine based on our current personnel and given that this is a trial. I wouldnt like to see a non-utility back like Daniella on the bench in the season proper but for a trial that is fine.

But you know that's what we'll see when the season rolls around.

The criticism of the Brown selection seems bizarre given that half of the forum was calling for him to be played at fullback last week.

I was out of the country last week, and admittedly I haven't seen much of Mitch Brown. But if he couldn't make the Sharks first grade side (and let's face it, their 2009 side was one of the poorest I've ever seen in first grade in the last decade) then I fail to see how he is going to be any good for us. I hope he proves me wrong, but he'll be yet another in the long line of players we've signed who are rubbish, and who nobody else wanted.

I see no reason to rush Jake into first grade given his slight frame and age. I wouldnt like to see his confidence destroyed like McDonnells was.

I do - he is clearly the best option at fullback while we have the likes of Tuqiri unavailable. I don't care if he isn't ready, the likes of Daniela and Brown are reserve graders at best.

I havent seen Brown either but he is an Australian schoolboy (granted it doesnt always mean anything) who quite a few people have been impressed with this year. I am happy for him to play a role in the squad.

Pritchard on the wing with a junior utility on the bench like Roqica or even Taumata instead of Daniela and i'd be happy. Moltzen @ 7 is pleasing to say the least. Should wear that jersey for the next 8 months

One thing with Brown is that he'll run the ball back hard and not throw it to his winger on every play. And with Moltzen shifting to 7, the Tigers now have a left and right playing half combo.

southerntiger…glad you stuck around...

I'm happy Brown has been selected at fullback ...he will go alright IMO....In his limited opportiunity at the Sharks at Fullback he ave about 140mmg ..twice he was up around...180 metres gained...If he where a Tiger he would have been 2nd only to Tui in metres gained {ave} for the season....he was well ahead of any fullback we used last year...

OH.....and everyone fretting about those left out.....Wests play their trial on Friday night against Norths at Liverpool,,,,.plenty of opportunity for the likes of Fafita, Pritchard, Davis and Corby to be added to the squad....

Just as Mullany and Hyland where added to the Foundation Cup squad....Sheens won't be travelling with just 18 for this trial.....

Happy or him to prove me wrong, but I won't be holding my breath.

Pritchard should be on the wing instead of Fitzhenry.

Im fine with Brown, just warming it for Lote.

Must admit I would have like a peep at Tomato,Fafita and Dwyer, just to see how they are travelling at this level.

Seems one or two of you don't watch much footy.

Mitch Brown has been in and out of first grade for a few years now. He's soft. He's a career underachiever who has had a tonne of chances and failed to do anything.

The same people "hoping" a change of clubs will magincally transform him are in the same boat over at Cronulla with the blokes there who are hoping John Morris is the ball playing wizard who will set their backline alight this year. All we've done is swap two duds.

Scary thing will be if he has one good game, i.e.a nothing trial v Cronulla…..........and then gets to play four crap ones when it counts in the NRL. Sheensy has a habit of experementing with duds the first half of the season. Nick Graham.............Sam Harris.............John Morris...........

Mate I watch every first grade game involving the Tigers but living in Beijing makes it difficult to catch all the games each week. I admit to not having seen many Sharks games over the past few years. The fact that Brown hasnt cemented a first grade spot under genuis Stuart doesnt worry me in the slightest. Its a trial so I am happy to see how he goes.

Dwyer is still injured, probably 2 weeks away from returning.

So why play him at all then??
Give a young guy who actually has some potential a go/ reward. If fitzy isn;t in sheens's plans for the year then don;t play him at all. ie. he is in sheens' plan.
