Mikaele is one of our few forwards that runs hard and bends the line. He needs to pay close attention to his handling as he makes regular mistakes.

In defence he is amongst the laziest players in the team. Lack of movement and the opposition picks him out regularly.

He's a physical freak just doesn't seem to have much of a footy brain

Like most in the WT team.

You agree with this weeks team list? Do you believe Seyfarth and Blore deserved to get dropped? Do you think Mbye, Nofo and Tamou deserve their spot in the team?

Pauga was considered the next big superstar by the Warriors back in 2016-17. Injuries at unfortunate times stalled his career and had been firing away in QLD Cup. I didn’t think he would set the world on fire in nsw cup but apparently he's very professional & enthusiastic. I'm most looking forward to watching him. Hopefully he can prove and own the centre. 🙌

Are these the real "men?"

Joe Jackson asked that question

Maybe Paul Galen can suggest that the single blokes can be a different type of real men in the bubble.

I can understand what Madge is doing by dropping Seyfarth & giving giving Mikaele the 13 Jersey. We always get smashed bringing the ball out from our try line & need more aggressive big forwards who can run more metres. For mine Blore did not get a lot of opportunity coming off the bench & I would given him another chance as he is an aggressive backrower but Twal, Garner & Tamou are the same as Seyfarth in not denting the line enough we need big aggressive strong runners With more power in their legs as we always get dominated in the forwards & that needs to change because other teams are always in a better position on the field than us which are giving their playmakers more opportunity to create more tries. Mbye is on the bench for his utility value which is smart just in case an injury occurs.
My Team If I was coach would be:

Laurie
Nofoaluma
Roberts
Pauga
Maumalo
Douiehi (C)
Brooks
Ofahengaue
Blore
Simpkins
Stefano
Liddle
Musgrove
Bench
Mbye
Leilua
Amone
Mikaele

Well Mbye has been dropped to the bench, so I can only assume he's there as hooker cover. There may be ongong concerns for Liddle playing 80.

Blore looked short of a run at times, always strapped like an old trotter, may need a rest. Coach gave Stefano a few weeks in reggies, didn't do him any harm.

Seyfarth - just doesn't have it for mine. Definitely tries his heart out but I'm worried about his lateral defence in and around the ruck. Zero impact in hitups and a little slow / lacking power. I think he would compliment a forward pack in good form, not provide the go-forward we currently need.

Coach could have dropped Nofo right out, but I don't see who he has on the wing mandating a call-up, and then he risks two debutants / newbies in the backline, and Pauga looks like he's playing Nofo's side, right? So two debutants same side.

Tamou, yes he deserves his spot. I don't think you can take your 200+ match player out at this stage, coach needs to keep some seniority if he's going to run out the rest of the pack of 50-odd matches experience (Luch 79 matches), and his front-row partner 17 matches experience. What's the alternative? Promote Twal or Mikaele to starting prop? Amone? To partner Stefano? I don't think so.

5/8th has changed, new guy in centres, new kid on bench who is worth of a call-up - I think all in all about as much as you can expect in 1 week of changes.

It's weird, I thought he was poor last week. Certainly however - one of the few players with the explosive capacity to make a difference in early exchanges. May end up being a masterstroke if the kid can hold the bloody football.

Or it may continue to show that Mikaele is not achieving the level we require of him - and a decision what to be made of him long-term. He's had plenty of goes off the bench, let's see how he starts. He's basically taken Twal's spot, who has been struggling against surging defensive lines past few weeks.

Fair enough. I think it’s a dumpster fire of a team list.

Nofo and Mbye have been appalling both in performance and attitude. How they can retain their spots in the team is insulting to Seyfarth and Blore who at least have a dig.

Tamou is a waste of a spot. If he can’t play more than 20 minutes and 3 runs per game what’s the point?

Mikaele can’t catch the ball so I’m not sure why he’s at 13.

Luciano hasn’t been right for a long time and is clearly struggling with injury. Why does he persist with him in 2R when he can’t move laterally?

Certainly confused about his inclusion at 13. I have liked the look of him when he has started though. He strung a good set of games together in 2019 starting.

That's a good point thinking about it..season gone..Seyfath has shown what he has been decent..Blore is already longer term.. Mikaele has been hit and miss ...off contract..if he makes a go of starting it helps the decision re-signing him or not..

Yes we wanted more changes but all at once won't necessarily tell you much individually given no lower grades for now..

Few changes each week here on in till the end of the year giving the rookies a taste without completely destroying any confidence they may have..

Hopefully they showcase Mbye so they can piss him off to Brisbane. He should not be in the team otherwise.

I would have blooded Cooper, Kai and Tuilagi this week.

Let em have a crack!

Can’t wait to see big Tuki throw his weight around. He’s got something about him - and I love it!

It's a bit surprising Tuilagi wasn't chosen over Tuki. Maybe it's because Tuki is top 30 and Tuilagi isn't at the moment so he's not going to Brisbane

The fact that Mikaele and Mbye are in the team tells me not only has Madge lost the dressing room but also his mind. Must be hoping for an early payout.

Forwards:
The big issue is Tamou in the forwards. He's getting belted at the moment and I think it'd be really good to play him off the bench and see if he can do any better coming on after twenty. At least we'll be able to get into the game that way. As it is, by the time he comes off, the games already lost and momentum is well against us. I think Twal was the stronger of the two when they started, I think most would agree.

Mbye:
I like Mbye off the bench, that's his best position and he's actually pretty valuable in that role as he can play all but the front row effectively as a fill in. He was going well off the bench earlier this year and we fell into the trap of thinking he could do it as a starter. Wouldn't have minded if Talau was given that utility role as well, think he should be given more opportunity, maybe even as a lock.

Second Row:
I would have liked to see Blore start over Garner, I liked when Garner was coming off the bench after twenty. His impact running tends to come alive a bit at the end of halves when players are tired. I also don't think Blore got any opportunity to get going. I rate Mikaele and am glad he's starting somewhere but I'd prefer he was at prop. He's up and down but he brings much more aggression than any of our other props. I think he'll mature well.

Doueihi:
Definitely happy with Doueihi back at 6, I never thought he should have moved even after it worked in the first match. Mbye is too limited and Doueihi was wrongly chastised for not passing when actually he was just taking the only option really available most times. Will be interesting to see if Brooks can maintain his good form with Doueihi back partnering him. I hope it works because it's our best combination.

Bench:

I hated the four forwards on the bench, much better balance to this bench and the team overall.
